Crudfest

Never said I didn't want to meet other crudders though. In fact, I'm pretty sure I was saying the exact opposite.

This started off as a thread about "Crudfest" where we would all meet up somewhere where there is good riding (both DH and XC) and a decent night out.

When I suggested Inners you decided it wasn't close enough to your house so dismissed it off-hand as not useful. It's since descended into a thread about where it the best place to meet up for a pissup where a MTB ride might break out.

I'm suggesting a weekender where a few of the people I met on this MTB site meet up to do some MTB then have a bit of a social on an evening with some beers and laughs.

FoD for me. Ideally a days riding with a bbq and camping in the night.

Tends to be what I do a lot of weekends if the weathers good anyway biking / camping with drinks or both and FoD is a good riding spot and must admit local.

Seriously though, Its best to pick somewhere and just put it out there, then if people can make it they can, if people want to make it they can. My point about it not being really about the riding is just that, its a weekend, a laugh, if you want to ride you can, if you dont then you dont, but dont dismiss it because you dont like the trail, its the people that will make it a top time

No i didn' t put it to a vote scotland is there see not my prefered choice, but i put it to the masses

What i was trying to get at is lets not start organising 3 different rides in this one thread so we can kick on with what the largest amount of people want.

Well I can't make any promises just yet, but I've got some free money to spend on my corporate travel account. I was going to see if I can get a self catering lodge or something for the weekend. I quite fancy innerhaven if I can get it for the nights of 10th & 11th Aug. Sleeps 6, so I can bring a few guests.

I'd be up for a trip, the longer notice I have the better lol! A couple of us from down ere in Wales could make a trip of it up to Scotland... Wonder how many trail centers we can ride on the way lol! Get another thread started when you know fo sho!

11th August is my birthday; perfect weekend for me and would be an awesome way to celebrate. I'm not sure if the gf (or wife by then - scary) would be too happy about me dissapearing for the weekend.

I'll find out and get back. Sounds potentially awesome though

But I wanted to go to GT this year, and wasn't so bothered about the drinking part of crudfest, so I've organized something seperate to that because as we know, groups that break away from the main forum here do so well.

That issue really irritates me - It happens all the time, somebody tries organising a meetup in "Llan", or in "Aber", or in "Port", then they moan when nobody turns up.
