Why would Chelsea rob them of a Champions league place? Its not like Chelsea want to win the C/L on purpose to rob anyone - its UEFA you should be having a go at rather than Chelasea, robing and travestying .......

Chelsea don't rob anything.. They just throw millions at it instead! And when that doesn't work they throw a few more million at it!

I would also call the Cambs/Beds boarder home.. that doesn't mean that Man Utd weren't my local team in the past.. in fact I was born in Warrington and used to live 1/2 way in between Warrington and Manchester (and i thank God every day that my parents didn't decide to live in between Warrington and Liverpool instead  )

It really bugs me when people assume you're a 'typical' Man U supporter because you currently live the other end of the country.

Yeah i probably shouldn't have phrased it in that way -> i just think it would be a shame to see Newcastle's hard work go to 'waste'... even if the Europa League would probably be a more appropriate level for them anyway.

I really hope Chelsea win the final and finish outside the top 4 if it means they get to claim the 4th places champions league spot. My thoroughly irrational hatered of Tottenham and thoroughly rational hatred of Newcastle will see me laughing so hard I will need medical attention.

If Chelsea rob Newcastle of a well deserved Champions League place it will be a travesty...

It doesn't matter how much you hate them.. you have to admit they are playing some amazing football at the moment.

Certain amount of irony in that post. A well deserved CHAMPIONS league place, for a team that finishes FOURTH in its domestic league. I know they're entitled due to how the champions league is organised but it's all about money. IMHO the original european cup format was the fairest and best, but not such a moneyspinner for all concerned.

I'm intrigued, as a Newcastle fan, unless you're a mackem I dont know why you hate Newcastle? Care to explain? Most other fans dont mind us really. And agreed, Newcastle are punching well above our weight this season but you cant argue we deserve to be up there. League table doesnt lie. I actually think Europe will be a negative distraction for us next season, but still, If we finish 4th we've earned it, so we should play. Haway ( Real Madrid ) Lads. Need you to stuff Chelsea.

As a neutral I must say what a great game it was and well done to Chelsea for hanging on.

Seems strange that even if Chelsea win it De Matteo will be out of a job and Pep Gaurdiola, the manager he beat will take his place!

Terry is just a wan&er and deserves all he gets/misses especially for his lame excuse as to what happened, be a man and own up to the fact you fouled him.

But go on and win it.

Essentially its because Pep has won 15 of the last 19 trophies Barca have been in (including 3 this year already with the Cppa Del Ray yet to go) and Roberto, as cool, iconic as he is and one of my favourite Chelsea players ever, is only a caretaker manager.

Then again, who knows what may happen by the start of next season?
  • Chelsea fan here - great night for us. JT was stupid imo.

An observation on this thread; when a footballer goes awry he is a **nt, tosser, w&nker etc yet when a top cyclist is nailed for being a dope laden cheat I don't see such words bandied about so readily if at all.

Double standards in some quarters methinks.

Cyclists that drug cheat are idiots.

Footballers that rape women are wankers, or perhaps ought to be that's not against the law................I hope.

I think there is a difference between a cheatin' dopin' slagin' cyclist who dopes himself up - we all know that I am an advocate of the instant life ban for doping - even if it does mean Dopey cheatin' slagin' lyin' cheatin' Millar not being able to compete for GB and a foul moutthed alleged racist football player who cheats on his drug dealing family and friends, letting down his club and supporters, is generally vile to members of the public and is a spoilt over paid horrible piece of humanity.

Ok, footballers get a bad press - there are few good ones on (Drogba and his foundation, bizarrely enough Barton and the work he does in Africa to name but two) but the majority of them seem (I said seem, as I can only go on what the media publicises) to be horrible oiks who just through a fluke of nature and tv earn insane amounts of money and are idolised.

Its not just Terry - the racist affray convictions of Woodgate/Bowyer seem to have been quietly forgotten as well: if it was anyone else - ie a normal member of the opublic - they would have (hopefully) been locked up and detested by everyone, but because they kick a pig's bladder around all is well. If I was to repeatedly punch a DJ in the head for not playing the music I wanted to listen to, then I'm sure that I would currently be residing at Her Majesty's Pleasure not playing footy at Anfield on a Saturday. And I certainly wouldn't have a job either, unlike Mr Gerrard …….

Lets just say that I'm more than happy that JT won't be allowed in the dug out during the final or to raise the trophy.

Thought Fat Frank was trying to get himself sent off too so he could get home early and check JT hadnt climbed on top of Christine.

I ve stopped hoping that England might one day win the World Cup because if the squad had JT and Cashley Cole in it they might be Knighted, in which case I d hand back my gongs to HRH.

Fair play to Dematteo , hes a good guy and deserves a shout.

Unlucky JT no final for you this year, Hopefully next year you can play in the Final between Wormwood Scrubs and Pentonville you C*nt.

Why? They new the rules when they played. I don't think setting a precedent for other future games would be correct.

If he had any decency, which of course he doesn't, he'd let the captain on the day lift the cup (should they win it).

Pure F*cking genius from UEFA as normal. Who are they going to get to present it , Anton Ferdinand ? or Wayne Bridge?

Or will it be the only man in European football whos more unlikeable than Terry, Sepp Blatter?
