Evans reckons the Scott Scale 40 is 11kg, I assume including the supplied wellgo c128 pedals. So without pedals it could be anywhere from 10.5 - 10.7kg?

I'm fairly sure my old road bike was over 10kg that didnt hang about up hill, I'd just get the nicest one for about a grand with the best parts hanging off it. You're only going up half of the time.

Claimed weights are b*llocks. Giant used to claim 27lb for my Trance X with a medium frame, I weighed mine & it was 31lb. My friends Santa Cruz Heckler weighs 3lb more than it's claimed weight, another friends Cannondale RZ120 is well over the claimed weight even though the claimed weight was for a medium frame & he had a small.

I'm pretty sure CRC make their weights up - is not a cat in hells chance that Vitus weighs that.

Im a lbs man with a Rockhopper but surly you cant get near that weight for a grand :?: Its cost me a fortune to get my bike to 25lb ish... But I do have very good scales!

I ordered a canyon last year, quality service amazing bike. Might have to wait for delivery and charges for delivery but you will get a better spec'd bike for the money.

Take it there's no import taxes as Europe? just bought golf gear from USA once and stung with Customs taxes which made item very expensive!

I've seen a few hardtails around £1000 that weight 11.5kg/ish.

No point quibbling over a kilo plus If you want a hardtail...I think that's pretty much the minimum you can get without going carbon...and an extra grand?
