I used to have a manager who was forever making suggestions on how to make my commute 'easier'. Using an electric bike, taking the bike on the train to Waterloo and riding the rest of the way to the City, riding alternate journeys and leaving the bike at work were just a few of the suggestions.

Thing is, I was only doing Mortlake to the City so it was neither a massive commute nor one that had to be done by bike.

He was putting an awful lot of effort into finding a solution to a problem I didn't have.

Them: If you wear headphones - doesn't that distract you?

Me: Does listening to the radio in your car distract you?

BTW - I cycle with one headphone in my left ear - so I am only partially a bad boy.
