Another good article, which can be seen as a companion piece to Lionel Birnie's excellent blog posting, can be found here;

Here, Professor Mondenard says CAS's ruling on AC is not credible or believable .
http://www.marca.com/2012/02/16/ciclism ... 07368.html
Mondenard authored 'Dopage dans le football , La loi du silence', I take that to mean "Doping in football, the law of silence". http://www.amazon.fr/Dopage-dans-footba ... 284&sr=1-1 380 pages of it.
So this French Prof is defending Contador and he wrote a column in Le Monde about it. Nothing really exciting except he says CAS's (TAS in Spanish) explanation is wilder than Contador's."La hipótesis del suplemento alimentario contaminado es mucho más loca que la tesis del bistec"
But he also says that suspicions of Spanish sport are "legitimate" http://www.france24.com/fr/20120216-dop ... s-cyclisme . I don't readily find English articles on this but his book does sound interesting.0 -

I came to the same conclusion after reading the report. i.e. Contaminated supplements would have seen many more positives being found, not just with Bertie, but with many other riders.
However, the blood doping evidence was compelling in my view, blood passport values showing unlikely levels during big tours. I am being forced to conclude that Berties testing was targeted, UCI suspected something and sent some samples to a more sensitive test.
But then there was the seeming coverup/delay in announcing the finding.--

It may not have been personal, it may just have been about moving one step up the (giro) podium.0 -

Then why not do so openly? why wait all this time? if people are scared, then it's personal.--

Did anyone else think that the annonymous 'piece' supposedly written by a rider from Astana that spoke of clen use
was quite convincing?'Do not compare your bike to others, for always there will be greater and lesser bikes'0 -
