curses that horrid wet bank holiday (and the rain cloud that hangs over the uk)! but other than the awe inspiring Thomas tTE, looks like most of us got in fewer rides despite a four day weekend this month.0

Yeah disappointed i only got two in.
Was a bit surprised when i looked over my garmin files that my overall monthly mileage was up on June last year despite there being less long rides. I guess its down to being a wimp and not having the motivation to add on an extra 10 or 20km at the end of a ride to get to 100km when its pouring with rain!0 -

Guess i'm lucky living in sunny Bournemouth !!
Well done to all Marmotte finishers....i see Matt Page's name right up there in the results !!..anyone else ?0 -

Er...DNF for me, I'm embarrassed to admit  . Was aiming for sub-7 ride but managed 2km of the first descent before going over the handlbars at 68kph  A few stitches, and a bust front wheel, but otherwise OK. Well done Matt though. That's a cracking time.0 -
How did you get on Thomas? First Marmotte for me, loved it and happy with my time. Sub 7 was the aim, I guess sub 6.30 will be the aim next time
genki, I hope you weren't either of the people who crashed just in front of me. Both at the top of the Glandon and both looked horrible. One on the inside on a left hand switchback, the other straight into a rock face a little lower down.0 -

No, I was about 5mins behind you going over the Glandon. I went down on a snaky chicane as someone squeezed me too close to the edge and I clipped the stone ledge - my fault for going past him though I'd shouted two warnings. Gutted becuase I'd got up to the Glandon with ave HR 142, 5bpm lower than last year, and felt like I still had fresh legs.

Loads of casualties in the clearing station and hopsital though - some good riders in there too, most had had rear-tyres blowing :?0 -

I was looking for sub 10h , but made 8.20 !
Spent the week acclimatising in Bourg and had a couple of hard lumpy rides midweek followed by feet up for 2 days.
legs went half way up the alpe othwerwise sub 8 was on the cards ...next year maybe !!
Got to go back as for the second time i do not appear in the results.
First year was my fault as chip in wrong place, but this time not.
On the Thursday , i was the very 1st person to register for the Ride (Yippee) but on the way out , tested the chip but would not work. The guy went away and 20 mins later said it was sorted , although would still not work on the test pad. he assured me it was sorted.
However , as i rode around the course , i never got a beep out of the timing mats...Grrrrr
Luckily i took a photo of my Garmin with my finishing time to show my fellow i-Team members (we had 25 riding!) as verification.
Hopefully 3rd time lucky next year !
Toodlepip !0 -
Forget that last post...found my time at 8.36 !
Not sure quite where the difference in Garmin and official time comes from ?
...may be where i was going so slowly , Garmin Auto-paused itself !

Apologies again....0

And durrin , it won't be long before you're Top Dog if you keep bangin in 6ook rides.
Great effort ....and 19mph avg for the first 400k !!!! Awesome0 -
thanks, but that was likely the last really long ride this year... And the main reason I could manage that average was the three swedes I was riding with, 2 of them were really really strong!0

Sadly, I did not manage to get a century in September.
Really busy with work at the start of the month and the last week had such atrocious weather up here I just couldn't face going out in it.0 -
Have updated for September, apologies for slackness!0
