Wakefield & Leeds area riders, well west yorkshire really??

Hi all,
Recently got back into saddle after a long layoff through injury and now riding alone :-(
Looking for some riding buddies in and around Wakefield, Leeds, west Yorkshire.
I'm abit rusty so need a real good blow out to get rid of the cobwebs.

Anyone??

    Hey Lee, looking for same here, happy for local rides or days out on the trail. Want to do Dalby and Sherwood soon. Let me know if your interested. Just upgraded to a full sus specialized, and only done local stuff so far. Steve

    Hi guys,
    i'm from just the other side of leeds in Guiseley and am recently back into mtb's. Need to brush up on skills and REALLY improve my fitness(just turned 40 and the belly has to go!!). Going to try and get out this weekend if either of you are up for meeting?

    I'm in Rawdon and know loads of stuff and people to ride with.

    If you are in the South Leeds side of things then look up Bad Brains as they ride regularly.
    ill be out this weekend, not sure where, may head up over Bingley, from Guiseley, via esholt.

    oh I'm 42 and have to shift some timber too.

    Hi Eddy,
    i'm actually in Guiseley, just near nunroyd park! I was thinking of heading to Esholt/thackley this weekend as i have heard there is some good stuff there but not checked it out yet.
    I am actually heading there tomorrow as i have a random day off :-)

    Ok guys seems we all have the same thing in common and similar ages. Would be great to meet and ride some trails if your up for it? I live the other side of Leeds but no problem in getting to Esholt or Thackley but don't know the area? Really need to ride something a bit different! Be good to hear from you!

    Hey all!! Yeah I'm game for that this Saturday, running a GT at the minute til new bike arrives gonna stick on amfew
    Upgrades but I'll be ready for Saturday if we are planning a jaunt? We all need to get this sorted as steve mentioned we all seem to have the same thing in common.

    Ten at the Barge in Rodley.
    that will give us options on Esholt, Calverley, thackley, or Horsforth, Bramley, Adel. Meanwood.

    Loads to go at, can do a couple of hours or an all day ride.

    What time and where do you guys fancy(i have no car so hopefully near guiseley or a train station).
    I'm new to the area so don't really know any rides yet, all i know is there is a skills area at Thackley.

    Well the mrs will have the car for me too so near a train station would be good for me too, I'll be heading to wherever we go from Wakefield train station too.

    Haha no eddy I'll still do Saturday too, I think people are meaning that they will do both sat and sun if possible.

    Yep count me in for Saturday too! If your riding Sunday I happy to Tag along too! Don't really know the area thoughso will be dependant on you guys heading up the route?

    I'm happy to lead if you like, I know some mint stuff in the local woods, though, Im not fit at moment so happy for you to race ahead on the climbs. But on the downs, bring it on, weight has its advantages.

    So to confirm, most are game for sat and sun, Saturday is Rodley starting at the barge eddy leading, then Sunday we are stuck on venue?

    Sunday I'd suggest Bingley, it has some of the most technical riding anywhere and it has plenty to make it a big day out. And you can get there by train.

    Lol, technical stuff hey? Let's not get ahead of ourselves! Ha ha! Riding a specialised FSR at the min but find it a bit slow! 10 it is at the barge on Saturday, how long we planning then so we know what to prepare! Ste

    Saturday we can do as long as we like, I would like to work around three hours ish, can add more on if you want to go further, do more, so happy to do four hours or more if you like.

    Bingley though is Soooooooo. good, its unfair that we have such good stuff on the doorstep

    Well Bingley sounds bloody good on sunday for me. Although "technical" may well translate to "fallingoffalot" for me, but hey thats how we learn! lol

    Well i'll be coming on the train and i think Lee will be as well, so how about meeting at the station?

    I'll bring a couple of plasters Steve, but we only have some Disney Princess ones in the house if they are ok? ;-)

    And in answer to Lee's question, i'm on a 2005 Marin Attack Trail. My first FS as i have always ridden hardtail and it's certainly taking some getting used too!
