The bike riding goes out of the window with the first kid - I'd just got a new job 30 miles away... nice car etc... moved jobs nearer home after 8 years not riding enough.... - back to working nea home - career took a big pay cut... cycling was back on. Unfortunately my warning to my missus about commuting crashes only lasted a year before I had an off.
Life changes so much with kids - don't plan - adapt !0
