Beckenham, whilst addressed as Kent is very much south London, LB Bromley, wouldn't surprise me if they were nicked in the slightest.

Maybe I'm being a bit uncharitable but it occurs to me that someone who can shift ten 2nd hand bikes in as many days must have a very good purchasing/ re-selling strategy.

Or maybe someone should be checking the Bikes Stolen forum on here to see if there are any that match. Or send the link to his sales to the kent rozzers just out of public duty

Definitely dodgy the description of the boardman is completely wrong too. You can see the ritchey branding on the wheels but the description says mavic.
It's the 2011 description on a 2010 (or older) bike.

Is there any way of letting the bobbys know about this guy?

He was called JasonDonovan tho so it might be he has finally seen sense in that respect.

Seriously this guy looks very dodgy to me, Ebay really is a minefield.

Immensely relieved. Still £80 out of pocket thanks to the gentleman but on the whole an easier path to a good result than I was anticipating.

Yeah, a good buying/ re-selling strategy indeed. How quickly the guy folded when I stated my intentions to take him to court is also suggestive.

Why £80 out of pocket? - surely it did not cost you that much to return the bike.

You've let him off far too lightly IMO!

I only got a refund for the selling price of the ornament not the courier cost, I returned it at my expense.

Betcha he didn't spend £80 couriering it to you in the first place. I assume that you paid so much because you insured it for a considerable sum. Couriering a bike usually costs about £20.

I think that I would have got my money back and then slated his feedback accordingly (assuming that you had not cancelled the transaction prior to this opportunity).

Holey crap scrotum batman, £80? why on earth should he not cough up for the postage fee's for both sides? You need a massive slap round the face, this guys an absolute pi$h taker and has literally pulled your pants down and used your ball sack as a punch bag.

For the record, you are not allowed to decline any form of paypal payment made on Ebay, as Ebay owns Paypal and are essentially the same company with a different name, you can say "NO PAYPAL" but if they buy something off you and pay by paypal your not officially allowed to do anything about it. Sure you can tell the person you don't accept paypal, but they are allowed to leave you instant negative feedback if you ask for another payment method, or refuse to send the item. The massive box we type all our mumbo jumbo in about the item we are selling is called the "Description box", while we think we are laying down the law on how the auction is going to go we are quite simply not, its purely to tell the buyer what the item looks like, anything else is purely erroneous, the only rules whatsoever are selected by ticking box's before you send your item to auction, and even then, each box comes with its own paragraph of BS. Morons typing "I DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS" in their description box means naff all if they didn't tick the box pre auction.

Ebay is pretty harsh if you don't know the ins and outs, but as long as you always use paypal you can get a refund for absolutely everything for any reason.

Ebay don't seem to be bothered that he won't accept PayPal, and that he states as much in his listings... but I suppose he's generating a fair amount for them by turning over a couple of bikes a week.

This is pretty similar to Steelem's thread of a couple of years ago. But nowhere near as funny.

Looks like the OP left neutral feedback.

    Why was that then?
