Where to carry tubs

Unlike many, I use tubs nearly all the time, I have found some near puncture proof ones for everyday use, but I still want to carry one just in case :D. I would really appreciate recommendation on where you carry it (seems pretty large!)? and what you carry with it?
Thanks A

I've seen people tie them to the underside of the saddle on the seat rails.

thats a good idea, zip ties?

Could use re-usable zip ties I guess, wouldn't want to have to carry something to cut normal ones.
Either that, or I've seen people have a can of "pitstop" attached to the bike somewhere, although my experiance with "pitstop" isn't great.

In the days when everyone used tubs, a spare was always carried under the back of the saddle tied on with a toe strap. In those days would could get a small pouch/roll thing to put the spare in to protect it from the weather. Not sure if they are still available.
I have only two things to say to that; Bo***cks

This is how they did it in the 1930s

Perhaps you'd like an Osgear Super Champion to go with your tubs?

The favoured item was a Walls Ice Cream banner to wrap and protect the tyre and secured under the saddle with a pedal toeclip strap. I still use a toe strap on the rare occasion I still need to carry a spare.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    WTF are tubs?

I am a beginner and have never heard of tubs.

Is this really the right board to be posting on?

Thank you Mr Big Bee.Tubular tyres are much larger and less commonly used and so I simply wondered where the majority of people carried them. Your response is much appreciated though completely invalid and stupid.

    Did you mean tubes?

Was it that hard to type that extra letter or is this a common name for tubes?

If so - is it really that hard to think of where you could carry them?

Hmm - backpack, saddlebag, frame bag, bottle bag.

shoot - I could have never thought of where I could possibly carry a tub!

    Sorry - tube..

I refer my less than honourable friend to the oracle that is Sheldon Brown....

You probably won't get to live this one down in a hurry, many on here have an appreciation of their hobby/sport and tend to have longish memories.. I'd keep your head down a bit
it wouldnt have been so bad, but you really worded it in quite an obnoxious fashion that an apology wouldnt go amiss.

next time, try google first, just in case.........

It wasn't meant in an obnoxious way at all.

And I thank you for pointing out the error of my way.

Then again - this is a road "beginners" thread.

Are beginners meant to know that tubs is short for tubular?

    I think not.

Thanks for all the abuse off all the other "experts" though!

No - Thank you - this is a Road BEGINNERS thread - not sure if you read that.

Funny thing is most road BEGINNERS don't use your outdated old fashion SPECIALIST tubes or tyres - maybe you could post in the relevant board that does cater for your weird tastes?

    Just a suggestion...

And you are properly sad aren't you?

How is someone on a beginners thread supposed to know that tubs means tubular?..

Please explain otherwise aim your vitriol at someone who deserves it.

Sorry - I find it quite funny that people like you feel the need to abuse people for absolutely NO reason.

    What is YOUR problem?

Or are you just an inadequate MORON?

I apologised for not knowing a technical term a few posts back. And IMO the jargon is not really suited to a BEGINNERS thread.

Obviously a lot of people have deep seated anger issues.

I can't help that and I hope you all get the help with your "tubs".....

    LOL....

Tubs are hardly weird or specialist. Just wind your neck in a few feet, and admit you made an error of judgment when you posted.

Normally, a beginner would do a little research, google is but a mere click away, or at least ask, before spouting off, which is what you did, not the best way to enamor yourself to a forum is it?.

You are crying abuse, when it was YOU who originally started the abuse?, typcial passive aggresive move

    My vitriol?, really?

You know I had taken on what JGSI had said don't ya?

You guys seem to be the ones with the problem - not me.

I wonder how many ROAD BEGINNERS - get tubs with their new bikes...

Hmm - what about a poll?

Or maybe you should just wind your necks in...

Anyone that ever utters "passive aggressive" usually has never looked in the mirror.

Cod psychology - the currency of the angry internet forumite who doesn't like an opposing argument.

    Congratulations.

Pathetic. I HAD - admitted I was wrong as it was pointed out to me reasonably.

I have now had a barrage of abuse - JOKE!!

Tubulars can be used by beginners and professionals alike, it is not a case of a beginner forum, but you acted like I was the stupid one. Came back to haunt you mate.
As above keep your head down.

Obviously a thread for local weirdos..

I do think a poll should be started in this BEGINNERS forum.

Does anyone know what tubs are?

    Is it a hot tub?

    A tubby person?

    A TUBULAR - aka a tub!!?

The weirdo from The League of Gentlemen?

    An angry muppet?

    Going live

you really need to get over yourself...

Just about sums you up really and your boyfriends who have been sucking your balls.

Unfortunately for you 95% of posters on this site are pretty helpful and non judgemental and have no reason to start playing the internet "hard man".

You are what happens when you touch a needle accidentally.

    Best of luck.

I think a single speed forum would be more up your street.

This would be better for you and your "TUB" buddies - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVmmYMwFj1I
