That's it! That's the answer! Everyone of us must pray for a huge snow storm sur La Grande Femme.

What do we know about the route around? It must be quite a distance.

I'd need more than the promise of an Eccles cake.

How about an Eccles cake and a Scotch egg?

At least this tour is limited the British LGF. Imagine having to listen to the whine of a tour of Rosanne Barr or dealing with the forestation of an East European shot putter. That would take a whole cake stop of cakes as a reward

Are you sure this is the right way Cleat?

Been looking at the satellite imagery of Alpe d'Feltz and not sure how I'm going to get up this one.

Don't think a compact would help either.

I'd have the Chocolate Éclair though.

Re: Alpe d'Feltz -I am not scared by the profile as such just that the scenery is quite bleak, therfore descending with my eyes closed worries me, what if I take a wrong turning and end up a going via passage du' derrier.

I think those eclairs are on their way to oblivion so I would not give much for your chances. You could try wrestling her for one (but I would bet on VF for that too!.

I wonder if this is enough for me to sneak a page win...

Well - it all went like this:
First we were talking about cakes then that led to Sarah Millican and James Corden references and the upcoming scenery, I then pointed out the Hors Catagorie of Alpe d Feltz pg 46 and was worried about going the wrong way, this led me on the foothills of La Grande Femme du Nord and we are currently still climbing. There have been some interesting segues into, Concientous Objectors and an oscillating argument about the morals of war, elevator procurement (mine) Dale farm evictions, a rival Grand Tour, the return of NapD, there is a guy who bought a broken carbon bike on Road Buying Avice off eBay (when will they learn?), a lad from Leicester had a bad day turned good and Diesel Dog needs to know abouot your popcorn selection. Now where the fuck is my bidon?

Lost. Somewhere during your pass over the long and arduous hills & valleys which comprise 'La Grande Femme'. You'll probably never see it again - that should, at least, be your fervent hope.

Just come off the front to talk to the team car-apparently we are in danger of being overtaken by the Girls in Knitwear if we keep up this cadence.Too many Eccles cakes are taking their terrible toll,so I propose we stick to the EPO from now on.Summit just 5K away.

Thanks for the tip. I think I'll just drop back so I can watch them go by.
btw Your supposition that our problems are attributable to eccles cakes does not really hold water. Who was it who once said, "An eccles cake or 2(0) never did me any harm"? I believe it was La Grande Femme Herself Vanessa (who ate all the eclairs) Phelps.

It must be a sugar rush from too many e-claires,but I think you are confusing Michael Feltz, the overbloated sometime celebratory `1`m my biggest fan` Greggs botherer, with Olympian multi medal dolphin DNA experiment gone wrong web toed Vanessa Phelps.Has to be the altitude on the Alpe.Look,Dutch corner, its gone all orange.

Yes I will admit I got a bit confused back there. I am an old man and may be turning into a Jerry 'at trick but you are wrong about the sugar rush. It is much more likely that I suffered sudden glycogen depletion. This is a common problem on this type of ascent and, in other words,I bonked. I wish to stress, however that this in no way involved a certain large lady - not even in my wildest fantasies.

I`m no Wiggo of course but I can see what you mean-its all about positioning on an ascent such as this.Ease back 5% and concentrate on the breathing, maybe a set of iridium lenses would help you through the worst passages.Good luck all.
