JAY 1??V. I forget the numbers but they don't matter - it was attached to a MK2 Ford Escort, a bare-shell BDA-powered machine that I got to drive [once] as a 17 y-o. Talk about grin like a loon - every time I saw it made me smile, but driving it was something else.

Not funny, but quite cool. By Chelsea Harbour there's a house with a small courtyard behind garage doors. When the doors are open you can see two high end cars (one used to be a Bentley, I think. Not sure whether it still is).

Sad I guess, but I bought one from DVLC for my motorcycle that is my surname with the Is replaced with 1s and the E with a 3. Helps that I have a weird Scandinavian surname 'cos it was the cheapest possible cost. Still roughly five bills though - and took me three years to get them to release it as a plate. Now I need the same one with an 8 for the E for Mrs AH.......

Yes, seen this one - Steve Parish co-owns a pub nearby and saw his Merc parked up in the local town. Very funny.

there is someone in Watford who drives a range rover that reads as DOYLE., Think the actual letters are YD10YLE. I always think that's an odd choice.

I knew a teenage hoon who managed to get 6UL DV8 on a plate (back in the 70s, in the US) - until somebody in motor vehicle registry figured it out and recalled it.

Oh yeah, that's reminded me. A bright orange Gallardo was repossessed by a business next door to us and had the number plate L11MBO with the top of the two ones (if you see what I mean) tilted towards each other to make an A. The repo guys who drove it back were stopped 7 times by the Met, Berkshire and Hampshire Constabulary DESPITE having trade plates on it and keeping within speed limits. *

    * The guy appeared 10 days letter to clear his arrears and take his car back and paid £45k IN CASH!

Hmm, years ago (i.e. when P would have been new) I actually saw P155 OFF, on the back of a small Peugeot I think, J19 of the M6. Must admit I couldn't believe the DVLA had actually let it slip through the net.

I was cycling home the other week and someone either had mean friends or had upset someone - Their rear number plate had a big yellow sticker over it with black writing in perfect size saying I 'heart' C0CK (heart being a picture of a heart)

It took me a couple of takes before it registered and the lights changed before I had time to get my phone out to get a picture. It kept me chuckling most of the way home though.

    Where to start :-)

Asides from the Pimlico Plumber one's EKE already mentioned I've seen quite a few interesting ones.

WOW 69 on an Audi parked in Croydon (have photo if needed :-))

MED1A on an Aston Martin in St Martin's lane car park

R1 VAL on a Bentley alongs NKR - Driver was texting at the time so he made it onto my YT channel :-)

G3 EKU on a BMW as I headed round Clapham Common Westside a few weeks back, just tickled my inner geek!

Have spotted the usual assortment of oh-so-orginal X(3/5/6) etc on various BMW's, not such a fan of those as it's rather un-inventive but I didn't mind so much see the reg plate on the McLaren F1 I spotted yesterday starting F1...I guess as it's a supercar I can make some allowances.

Best one for that though was on Top Gear a couple of weeks back when reviewing the new Renault Clio Cup they had the plate CL10 CUP on it.
