Try here for the forks manual, the Recon Gold R comes with either coil or air spring. Pre-load twist knob means you have coil:

I really wish the bike had an air fork! lol0 -
I would go for the standard as when stretched will give more clearance for the cable.
Dont worry about them just being coil, some people say they are better than air as can sometimes deal with small bumps better than air forks.2008 Kona Dawg Deluxe http://s1187.photobucket.com/albums/z39 ... luxe%2008/

Hello, been a while but I've been busy and also having to much fun on my bike, yup I'm riding it finally lol. Took my first death defying fall on sunday as well... was a close call, could have fallen head first into a 10 foot ravian but thankfully I managed to grab a branch and swing to safty so to speak and my shoulder hit the tree but it's just a little bruse and sore.

I fell of that bridge sideways.... scared the s' out of me lol... time to buy some upper body armour and I'm not skimping on this either, even if I haver to do a s' load of over time lol. I could have been skewered by that branch sticking up to the left hand side of me!
The bike is ok except for one thing, the front shifter for moving the gears up wont return any more. I have to keep pushing it back with my finger once I push it up to change gear , very inconvenient. I could do with some advice on trying to fix it tbh. Do you think the return spring came out and is a simple case of putting it back in properly? Is it easy enough to fix without me messing everything up to much?
I also need some fatter grips imo, they feel to small in my hands. I buy a lot of things from CRC these days so if there are and big handed people out there with some experience with different grips could help, that would be great cheers.
I love this bike it's great and the turning ability scares the hell out of me lol. just a little trun either way and I could be end over arse! Something I need practice with and lots of hehe0 -

I love riding that bike.
I sorted out the seat post so no more falling off cos I can't get my foot down properly lol and the gear's fine to now. It must have gotten a little bent so loosened the bolt inside the mech and it works now.
Just need to buy some upper body armour and I'm good to go again lol... shame you can't buy fearlessness to! hehe0 -
Great bike, very pleased with my purchase! Although agree about the grips!2011 Genesis Core 500
