Just heard about this and will definitely be making an effort to go this time as I got a Rapha top for my birthday and am now a huge convert. Lovely stuff.

Starts 29th July

After the ques last time think I'll give it a miss - especially with this July weather.

Hmm, very tempting to be a little late for work next week. Could cycle there but Brick Lane has a bad rep for bikes...

Its so tempting. I went to the last one but was a bit disappointed at what was there when I finished queueing for 20 mins in the cold. If you know what you're after though, it looks like some good deals are to be had. Advice would be to turn up early!

How are Rapha sizing for the larger gentleman? (nudge-nudge-wink-wink)

I'm guessing like most the other big cycling brands XXXL just means really tall with long arms, legs etc rather than short and round!

IIRC, tops were £30 in the last sale. RRP £125. train tickets can be had for £46 from Liverpool to London, I see. So even on that basis you'd be still quids in vs the retail price. And perhaps you could take some orders from other folk oop north and make a profit?

Hmm...I'm interested, but just wondering from anyone that's been before what sort of time the queues start building up?

Guessing it's a 'jumble sale' type affair with whatever they feel like they need to get rid of and it's a gamble as to what sizes are in too?

People in the boonies: you'll be able to pick up a lot of it on ebay within a few days

it's busy and it's a bundle, not sure I can justify and hour(min) away from work at that time

@Sketchly pie sizes are a plenty, so you have no need to rush over there, go in your own time and you'll have tonnes of choice for bargains and you can try stuff on.. worth it

@lastant queue from 9 and you'll be in the 1st or second group in...maybe

I found their extra small much bigger than other brands.

    (read too big for me)

They're normal round the chest but they assume the diameter of your limbs is bigger than other brands.

A little bigger around the shoulders too.

    Might go and see.

Do they take Credit Cards in the sample sale?

There's a lot of gloves and hats (summer and winter) there

quite a few paul smith and club jerseys

I managed to leave some gloves there after paying for them...feck

pre-sales are certainly the way to go.. there was barely any medium there last night as one of our group couldn't find much so ended up buying a pink hooded top out of desperation

That makes me feel better then - was going to go but I've got a meeting I can't get out of, if there's no medium though then I needn't have bothered.

I'd always closely inspect the stiching/quality of the items in the sample sale - usually they're fine, but there can be a few oddments in the mix.

Got there coming in the other end to the queue. It didn't look too long so sat down and had a nice breakfast roll before going out to join the queue - DOH! It was huge, doors opened and after the first movement it stopped and was going nowhere fast so I gave up and went back to work.

As I need XL anyway I may try later this afternoon. If anyone can give running updated on the queue situation that would be great!

I too have gone back to work. Queue moved a bit then just sat still for 20 mins.

Will try again at lunch, need pretty large anyway.

Gah...work's dictated I can't get down there and have plans over the weekend. If anybody is going down and is able to spot and pick up a pair of small Grand Tour gloves or Pro Team mitts in black for me I would be ever so grateful!

Anybody else interested, here's a price list snaffled from the LFGSS forum (thanks to missmouse on there!)...
