Roebuck offers laps of Nightingale Lane too. Would suggesting a SCR hill climb challenge be too cruel? We could even out the odds for the non-grimpeurs amongst us and give Sketchley a shot at beating someone like JonGinge by making it mandatory to down a half/pint/shot/whatever at the top of each rep, first to 3/5/x reps wins?"Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"

In London? Where? (Serious question btw, the only Nightingale Lane I found looked pretty flat).
Quite like the drinking game option thoughSometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.0 -
I think its a really evil little path/road down to the lake near roebuck and is quite steep...Le Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]

I've selected 6 August but any date in Regents Park is probably good for me... at the mo...
Would be good to put names to faces...Invacare Spectra Plus electric wheelchair, max speed 4mph0 -

You obviously haven't been to the Morpeth - alcohol has no effect on JonGinge's speed on a bike. I reckon combine the drinking idea with 25kg bags of sand. 1 for CJCP, 2 for JG, even everbody up to 100kg and then it would be fairish.0 -

Unless you combine with ITBoffin and they then crash together... Though they were both more than a few sheets to the wind on than a normal friday.Le Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]

I'd like to come along. Roebuck is best for me but can only do the 30th. Pint in the Roebuck, fall down the hill for a pint in the pub attached to the Petersham Hotel and back up for more in the Roebuck. Repeat until you can't get back up the hill.0
-
Will have to find some other way of stopping the lightweight speed merchants Perhaps if everyone stands at the top and blows (farts?) hard enough down the hill it'll slow them down?
Nightingale Lane is here: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=nightin ... 69336&z=16 - streetview will give you an indication of gradient but I believe it tops out at somewhere between 18% and 20%. Very short though and can pretty easily be done in the big ring. Roebuck is about a hundred yards off to the left at the top."Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"

Can do the 6th or 13th of Aug and willing to travel but prefer the roebuck. I think, is it Richmond Park?Bianchi Nirone C2C FCN40

Yes, just outside Richmond Gate. Stunning view off the top of Richmond Hill.0

Can do all but 13th August.
Roebuck preferred.0 -
Just checked my diary and we're up north for the weekends of the 30th (Jodrell Bank Sportive) and 7th (Pendle Predator) so can only do the 13th"Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"

Can't do the 6th, and 30th is probably a no go...
13th on the brompton for me.. (training and all that)Purveyor of sonic doom

Any of these dates is good for me at the Roebuck. Mrs and kids forming an advance party on holiday so I will be on my own for three weeks. Yippee (I mean I will miss them very much).Fat lads take longer to stop.0

I might come along this time depends on the weather natch! but good luck anyway, this time don't let those pros get in you way/wake :twisted:Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

I think I can do all those dates at the moment, although the 30th is the least convenient...Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

Missed this thread. Catching up. Roebuck good for me, will find the time. 13th not a good day as on night ride night before. Checking with Mrs about other dates.Keyser__Soze wrote:Roebuck offers laps of Nightingale Lane too. Would suggesting a SCR hill climb challenge be too cruel? Can we have a handicap hill climb? Sand bags strapped to your backs until you all weigh the same as me, then we'll see!!! Or a downhill TT would be fun, start at the Richmond Gate finishing at Roehampton Gate.--

Okay, it sounds like it's a shoo in for the Roebuck.
Next question is which date.
Currently 8 votes for the 30th and 7 for the 6th.
But 5 people CANNOT do the 30th,
and 4 people CANNOT do the 6th.
So I don't know...0 -
