made a few tiny changes to the bike.saw a koobi alpha prs saddle at a good price and thought id give it a try, and i have to say its an amazing bit of kit. never thought id find a comfier saddle than my charge spoon leather/ti but the koobi felt great from the very first ride. its 40 grams heavier than the charge but its a small price to pay for the comfort. they are pricey at $209 but worth every penny. i swapped the xtr cassette for a sram pg980 as i had warped the xtr slightly, i also have to say that the sram cassette feels and works better than the xtr, probably down to the flexy ti sprockets. the biggest change however were the tyres. as its getting drier on the trails i swapped my nobby nic ust tyres for a pair of 2.25 rocket ron ust's , the difference in speed was remarkable yet i still had the levels of grip i got with the nics. i reckon they should cope well with slightly damp conditions too. and finally ive included a pic of the blackspire 26t ring and the saint 36t. im still weighing up going to a 1x10 set up and im also considering going to a 36mm legged fork.

made a couple of small changes. gone are the xtr crank arms, replaced with a pair of heftier raceface altas arms. ive also gone back to the 32/22 rings setup using a harder wearing steel 32t xt and a steel 22t raceface inner for better longevity over the winter. ive put the drilled out cnc bashring back on too. out back ive stuck a 11/34 slx/saint cassette on. also put the chromag 50mm stem back on as my trip to lee quarry made me realise a shorter stem was needed. also fittedf a pair of sealed clarks teflon gear cables. all the changes ive made are geared towards strength and longevity over the dirty gritty winter months. will post some pics when ive taken some.Viner Salviati

Pastey_Boy i don't suppose you know a lad from Leigh called Jez? Went out for a ride a few months ago and he was talking about his someone he knew in Leigh who was obsessed with blinging his bikes and a couple of the bikes he mentioned seem to match the ones in the pics. What if your dreams and fears existed in the same place? What if to get to heaven, you had to brave hell? What if everything you've ever wanted cost you everything you've ever achieved? Would you still go there?0

It's one and the same Jez although he had the Jag when we went out riding, not seen him for a while is he still falling off?

Sounds like a plan there are a few of us from Leigh, Athy, Tyldesley that hit the trails at least once a month. There is a closed group started on Faceache that are a group of local riders not been out with them yet but they seem to be an alright group of lads. What if your dreams and fears existed in the same place? hi Pastey Boy,
thks for ur info for CRC and ebay. i m wondering how did i missed the M970 BS 26T chainring..
so, regarding above, what's ur review on the 22/32 vs 26/36? the material? gear shift? or just coz it's purely Winter only...
fyi, im using 24/32 with 11-34 on my xtr now, at same time i just changed to a OnOne 456 from my previous Stumpjumper.. im pedelling harder now so i feel that 26/36 give me a better ratio..
ur advise is much appreciated,.. thks bro0 -
I'm wondering whether to run mine with a Fox 36 160mm fork - anyone tried such a set up??
I'm guess ing that if I run it with a bit of sag, it won't make much difference to the geometry? I currently run a Talas 32 but never change from the150mm setting....thoughts appreciated0 -
been running mine with a 140mm revelation. i did slot a pair of 160mm coil lyriks onto the frame to see what they would feel like, i found the weight difference between the revs and lyriks made a huge difference to the feel of the bike as well as jacking the front end up too much. i think 150mm is about as much as this frame can take and still maintain its ride quality. i would swap the fox talas with a pair of revelation 150mm rlt's as this would save half a pound in weight and from my own personal experience the fox forks cannot touch the revelations in any department, and this comes from a fox fan (until i tried the revelations) 36 forks would be overkill on this frame in my opinion. a 34mm based fork would be great if someone ever releases one.Viner Salviati

Sounds like good advice - and I noticed the Rev Ti's are going for £400 at On-One!!0
-
the BOS deville has 34mm legs... dont really see the point tbh, its pretty much as heavy as 36 float0
-
the revelation rl with 15mm axle and crown lockout is going for £297 at merlin at the mo, just fitted a pair to a mates bike and they feel fantastic. got all the adjustments you need. i know about the bos fork also formula are releasing a 33mm leg fork that looks nice but both are silly money when the above fork is very capable and such a bargain.Viner Salviati

Lovely, I'd love a long travel Ti hardtail. I kept thinking about a Ti 456 but they seem to have been out of stock for ages.0

i am actually looking to sell/swap my lynskey frame at the moment. im having lots of trouble with my lower back to the point i may have to stop biking so im going to get a full susser to see if it improves my riding. i cant tell you how much i love the lynskey, i really dont want to part with it as it is a bike ive lusted after for ages and as hardtails go its pretty comfy but after ending up on crutches due to my back i really need to try a comfier option. i may even keep the lynskey and buy a complete suspension bike such as a canyon. im going for an xray and treatment on my back so i may be able to ride the lynskey again one day.Viner Salviati

Nice bike, cant believe I haven't seen it here before. I was also interested in these frames but the overly short top tube put me off, I think it was shorter than the rocky ridge it was to replace as that was starting to hurt my lower back as well, fortunatley I have just found the ultimate replacement frame also built by Lynskey...............all

the toptube on my medium comes in at 23.75 so its not that short, how long a top tube do you expect on a frame of this type ?Viner Salviati
