TDF Stage 7 **SPOILERS**

Quick question:
If 4 gold medials at an Olympics is worth and Knighthood, how many TDF stages does it take?
Not suggesting it's anywhere near yet, but Cav has to be on the cards at some point down the road.0 -

Just realised this is what I said at the start of the stage:I think this is likely to be the most 'routine' stage of the Tour this year. Hope I'm wrong but that's the way it's looking.
I'll be keeping quiet from now on.0 -
Horner off to hospital
Shack soigneur said Horner hit his head v. hard in crash, was totally out of it at finish. Off to hospital.0 -

Things are good even if there is no tour win this year...0 -
Even if he'd not been injured Wiggo would have lost 3 minutes, so either way that crash was going to cost him the great position he was in.
Such a shame for him, I really hope he finds that form again for next year.
Well, I'm putting my full support behind Cadel now.0 -
good point about the three minutes i suppose. has to be Cadel for me too but think it will revert to a replay of last year with Andy Pandy and Bertie.
if Cadel could take second he might be in with a shot after the hearingBurning Fat Not Rubber

Think I'm actually going to be following Contador now Wiggo is out.
Or may be one of the lotto guys0 -
Ryder and Mollema in the 2nd group. No luck again for those two. Shame for Horner, hardcore that he rolled in though.Contador is the Greatest0

When I saw the crash, the first thing I thought of was Sean Kelly 1987. That day, the crash happened on an unremarkable straight stretch of road and when the riders untangled, the great man holding his broken shoulder (and remarkably crying).
Was wating to see likewise this time and it was Wiggins that emerged, but with out the tears. Feel very sorry for him. It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0 -

So then maybe now you will say who is going to win as you were so sure Wiggins would not podium.
Personally I think his form was very good and had a very good chance to podium but unfortunately wewill never know who was right.0 -

okay, thanks for your post0 -
I read in Cycling Weekly that no one in the last 5 years (I think) who has won the Dauphine came even in the Top 5 on GC at the Tour. What do they know anyhow?? :? F***ing statistics!

Another thought is that Wiggins crashing out has surely destroyed any chance of team GB having a full 9 riders at the worlds?"I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0

Gutted. Thought Wiggins was a certain top 10 and possible top 5.
Was keeping up with this by following this thread. Any reason why Sky made all their riders wait?0 -
Hopefully this is all a massive wind up and Wiggins isn't injured and out after all and when i watch the highlights everything will be fine.

If recording live on Eurosport I always record the program after it as well as had this happen too many times!
To be fair to Eursoport, the race was well behind schedule today due to headwind and/or the bunch taking it easy. They were much slower than the slowest predicted time."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -

No, we're still looking Ok on that.
Currently positions 7-13 are
7.USA 382
8. Switzerland 358
9. UK 346
10. France 325
11. Kazakhstan 224
12. Denmark 206
13. Luxembourg 202
UK have already picked up 44 points in this Tour. Switzerland are unlikely to get many (20 in the TT), Luxembourg will expect to get lots. Kazakhstan will get a few, but not a huge amount.
Then there's France. There problem is that only riders on Pro Tour teams count - so basically AG2R, Chavanel and Pineau.
However, top 10 only guarantees 6 riders. To get full 9 you have to have 9 riders with at least 1 point. UK have 5.Twitter: @RichN950 -
I have done record series as I work away often so cannot record every programme following cycling though if I am home I do this0

according to harmonn uran was down as well so hardly worth the risk of everyone else riding off. sky were clearly all in it for wiggins which was good to see"Unfortunately these days a lot of people don’t understand the real quality of a bike" Ernesto Colnago0 -

If Wiggins had got back up then they might have needed everyone to do a TTT to get back on or to limit the losses. From what G Thomas said he, Ben Swift and someone else (Zandio?) were ahead of the crash and slowed to wait. I suppose you could argue that one of the sprinters should have been left up front to cover both bases but it just shows what a high value they were putting on Wiggins GC prospects.0 -
it is a shame... he was really up for it and all"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0

Well no, if he'd have been Ok they'd have all hopped on the new bikes and got going straight away. They lost so much time as they were all waiting to see if he was OK or not...
At least the hardcore Drugs they ve given him in th hospital seemed to be numbing the blow
Gutted!!
To make matters worse I left my phone connected to the Budget car rental answerphone in the UK for HALF A F**KING HOUR while I was distracted resulting, no doubt, in a massive pone bill to add insult to injury!!! Seriously i left two messages and the f**kers have nt called me back - just let me wait until one of you is free!!! Not a good night so farWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence
