I'd given up on Cav for that one.

Superb. The overhead replay shows the amount of ground he made up in such a sort distance. Unbelieveable!

    Well done Cav!

    Cavendish wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've just realised that I paused the Sky+ to go answer the door so I'm watching about 2 minutes behind everyone else....that's spoiled it

There's still few better in the peleton at picking their way through everyone else's train and getting the result. Great work Cav!

Swift had some awesome acceleration but he went way too soon.

    Boasson Hagen, wasn't it?

Ah, yep, I thought it was Swift at first.

Wonder what Thomas was doing up there? Trying for the stage win, trying to pick up some green jersey points, or was it another miserable failure at trying to lead out Ben Swift again?

Superb win by Cav there, came from miles back to get that one. Looks like he was out of the top 10 when the sprint proper kicked off. He stuck to that centre line like a train to the rails, no way for any Commissair to DQ him!
I trust that should Boonen & his team mate, fail to meet the cut off time, the race jury will keep them in.
Good try by EBH, if the chase had faltered for a few seconds, he would have got that.

Cav complaining about getting shoulder barged by Griepel and not feeling like he could defend himself after his DQ the other day. He also seems to have thought EBH was Wiggins

So Cav lost his wheel 'cos Greipel leaned on him and he "couldn't defend himself"...

Dude is just built to win. Despite the problems with the HTC train he's proven himself to be in top form with that battling 5th and an awesome finish today from nowhere.

hope they show boonen coming in, must have been a nightmare having to face the wind knowing you're up against a cut off time.

HTC train wasn't a problem - it was not being able to defend himself when getting barged, apparently. Fair point really.

I didn’t think I was that much of a Cav fan until I found myself screaming at the telly today.

Don’t think DH’s commentary is going to make it into next year’s Cav documentary though

Farrar rolled in miles back and Petacchi some 30 secs back. Strange that neither fancied it on such an obvious sprinters day.

Brian Holm on Cavendish (Danish TV interview)
He was in the hotel the other night and he looked really cross, so I said "Relax, you'll win soon", he turned around and said "I wan't to win 5"

Rough translation from the top of my head.
