Thats a stunning bike mate! very jealous!Ime diving, ime bored, ime on the diving board0 -
Thanks for all the comments on the bike. If anyone was looking for a XC bike a Anthem of any spec should be top of the list.
Hopefully tomorrow I will have more parts for it.
Would have been out on it a few times while i have been home but unfortunately i have been welded to my porcelain throne with a bad case of food poisoning. First time i have ever been struck down by it and i hope i never get struck down by it again, its not been pretty :oops:0 -
Stunning ride fella. Green with envy. Enjoy.I don't mind what they say... as long as they say its enormous0

Stunning bike Rick. My Anthem is an absolute dream to ride, so I can only imagine what yours is like with your sooper-dooper bits of lightweight & shiny kit on it!Winter: Moda Nocturne

Ok only me then .
Get well soon soon Rick . Look on the bright side though at least you'll be at racing weight by the time it's over .0 -

Here is todays instalment.

Double chainrings:
Formula Alloy pad retaining bolts:

Double chainring setup installed, just need to fettle the front mech position a little bit still:
Ritchey SuperLogic bars and XTR shifters fitted:

thats looking so good!
i really want a xtr shifter, should be getting one for the next build0 -
Brakes age getting changed once again
The Formula Levers and XTR shifters are not a great fit together, the bleed screw on the underside of the brake hits the shifter housing in the position i want to run them all.
So i have ordered some XTR Race brakes 8) Should be here tomorrow.0 -
XTR M985 Double front mech fitted, works miles better on the double than the old XT M770-10 adapted to run a double instead of a triple:

Spot the mistake:
O well fitted my one XTR Race brake:
And my Tune Skewers arrived as well:

CRC sorted the correct brake out straight away and it showed up first thing this morning. Top service to sort out what was a packaging mistake:
Sadly off the the Bahamas for a few days tomorrow. Cannot wait to get out on it and see how the XTR brakes perform.0 -
i tried the xtr brakes. perform well, but the lever feels small to me0
-
Hmmm... Holidaying in the Bahamas and from Macclesfield you must be either Mutley McLadd or the Beater0
-
The new XTR brakes are great, I run the trail version, love the short lever, easy one finger braking, and has bags of power IMO. Also bought the ispec adapter covers, to mount the brakes as well, makes for a tidy bar. Lovely bike by the way.Trek Remedy 9.9 (custom) 2011
Santa Cruz Tallboy LTc (custom)
Trek Stache 8 20130 -
Lovely bike and some fantastic upgrades though gotta say the remote lever for the forks looks damn site ugly0
-
Hi Rick,
Can I ask where you got the chainrings and bolts? I am thinking of doing something similar with my chainset. I was thinking of going a little larger than standard ratio. Do you know if you can get something in the region of a 26t small and 34/36t?
Cheers0 -
That's something special, unbelievable. Beautiful. Words cannot describe....0
-
Thanks everyone.
Rings and bolts came from Clee-Cycles, very fast delivery.
Ordered one of the shimano bleed pots for the brakes as i shortened the hoses the pikie way and pumped the pistons out a bit then pushed them back once the hose's were shortened. Think with a bleed they will be even better.0 -
This thread makes me want to buy an anthem!!!!
Great looking bike and great build.
Did you not fancy an xtr double chainset?0 -
