LOL yeah they clash a bit they'll look worse once my white bars arrive.0

I am loving the glow in the dark paint on that! Bike looks well nice now it's all resprayed.
I see you are using a 1x9 setup, is that just a standard ramped chainring or a single speed one? I'm just starting to get bits ready for my carbon 456 build and want to go single upfront so been looking at the best way to do it.
Thanks
And keep the pics coming.Out with the old, in with the new here.0 -

Cheers, i love the glow when getting into deep woodland after rididng in the sun!
The single ring is a FSA 32t one, the STD ones just bend if used on their own (well the stylo one did) I use the Superstar chain device, better quality than the MRP one and less than half the price!
Shortening the brake hoses as soon as the new connectors turn up, then i'll get some better pictures put up. I think i'll order that rear shock friday as it creaks and its loosing pressure, but it was lovely and soft last night0 -
It did look the business lats night when we came from the light into the woods... All glowing0

A new set of Crank Bro's Cobalt wheels have now been fitted to go with the Joplin, still not gone tubeless as i hadnt got the patience tonight but maybe have a go again at the weekend.
Quite scary how much lighter they are over the std rear wheels, 5.8kg to 2.6kg fully built inc tyres and tubes (just minus the cassette on both)
The new clarkes lightweight rotors are very odd under braking? should they feel lumpy??? i got to wait for the front one as CRC sent a 180mm instead of a 203mm. so once that turns up, my attentions can turn back to paining it properly.
anywhoooo i'll take some better pictures soon here's one quicky dirty one.

Nice bike, but what I like most is that you've invented a brilliant new word just for your thread title!
Good work fella!!Carbon 456 http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12754782

Finally set up Tubeless, god what a pain! hope its worth it??
Got another set of bars winging their way and also CRC have recieved my rotor return so should be recieving the replacement back shortly.
If anyone is thinking about these wheels, you gotta take the plunge, awesomely light and well the look the dogs dangleys!0 -
* Update*
680mm bars fitted but only had a borrowed stem which a little too long, so got to get a new shorter stem.
Anyone considering tubeless but cant see how it will benefit (this was me) since changing over, the rolling resistance and grip difference is just mental! i cant explain why, it makes no sense in my head, but very glad i did it.
Last thing to do will be to do the final weigh in. it feels extremely light, i think its under the 12kg / 26lbs but i'm a little scared to do it just in case its not :?0 -

Ooo your respraying her? what colour where how much complete details! lol0
-
I keep getting delays and changing my mind, final plans have yet to be set! Lol0
-
right so a few weeks ago i went to cannock, got over enthusiastic broke the rear mech and chain, so it was an ideal opertunity to strip down and get the things that have been niggling me sorted.
Stripped the frame completely down, ordered a new rear mech, new chain, new chain device and some cable stays and of course some custom made stencils
then i set about stripping the paint off.
Let me tell you, that glow in the dark paint just did not want to come off! 3 days later i was at a point i could start prepping.
then to add the stencils
a bit of masking
so now i start to build up the shadowing. this was a plan that started off being a tribal tattoo then to glow in the dark tribal to the writing.
so without looking too closely it will just look green, get closer and you'll see the shadow writing, and when the lights go out on the night rides you'll see the writing! all bold like
so before the lacquer goes on (and the lights stay on) this is what it looks like
so now i have to wait for the laquer to dry and harden, then build her back up before getting her all muddy again on sunday!
cant wait!0 -
ooo what did you use to respray?
Very brave doing it yourself, i can never get a good even finish when i paint anything0 -
