New saddle fitted, just waiting on the 203mm discs and the Red brake lines 8) New wheels are on the cards in the next few weeks, :?
Then what? do i sacrifice weight and get a Joplin?
**edit ** I'll put the new overall weight up once new bits fitted, but the stem and saddle alone must be at least 10lbs0 -

Besides stripping the frame what pre paint prep did you do ?
Did you primer , undercoat then spray , or just spray paint onto bare metal ?
Just asking because on the pic of the damaged paint I can't see too well what base layers you've got , if any .
How long did you leave it to dry before you clamped it in the workstand ?
Would you say even when it's dry it's a "soft" paint ? Don't wanna waste my time trying it on something I have in mind if the paint's not that durable .
As for the carbon stays . . . .Link
Sorry it's road related but restoring carbon at home looks possible I must admit I was a bit scared of the damage I could have done trying to respray carbon too .
More pics please ASAP ! ( Or even a little video of it being ridden at night ? )0 -
Hi mate,
It was taken back to bare metal and primered, but the glow in the dark paint needs quite a few layers which makes it soft, I would of left it a day not a few mins before putting it back together, so may do it again next weekend?
Tried to get some decent pics on last nights ride but failed as kept getting movement. Really cool when you get into the dark woods after riding in the open fields;)0 -
Has the paint got any harder / more durable now it's had more time to "go off" IYO ?
Or has it remained soft due to the number of coats you had to apply ?
Tip : Put the camera / phone on a hard steady surface (tree stump ?) and set the timer option . Should work even in the dark I think ?
Still can't get my head round this glow in the dark paint mallarky . My eyes can see it working but my head does not believe .
I think it's all done with magic and fairy dust
Just like jet planes and flying ! :?0 -
Lol that's why I bought the paint because I didn't believe LOL
Much harder now, I was just inpatient :roll:0 -
So it's just as tough as a normal paint would be then ya reckon ?0
-
Yeah, I also laqured it for extra strength but too little to late :roll:0
-
Does it need special laquer too ?
Was the laquer the same make or just any old ?
Sorry for all the questions BTW
Ya just hit bang on what I've been wishin for for ages an you've given me the incentive to go and try when funds allow ( Got a sneaky side project OTG ATM , can't say too much at the mo but keep ya eyes peeled )0 -
P.S.
Any ideas where I can get a set full set of linkages and bolts for a 2007 Fisher Hi-Fi pro for less than the quoted £200 I've been getting ?0 -
fattrucker
 No other than ebay or the good ol u.s of a?
Bleeding eck
And yes same make laquer
BTW my mate rides the Hi Fi, brilliant and same geometry as mine. 8)0 -
Got the two halves off Ebay (front triangle and rear stays) yonks ago for "a bargin" been searchin ever since .
There is a broken Hi-Fi on ATM but he's wantin daft money . Think he's working on the linkage price and it includes HALF a usable frame .
They had some decent reviews in their day did Hi-Fi's .BTW my mate rides the Hi Fi, brilliant and same geometry as mine.
See why ya got me interested now ?0 -

Snot luck I need it's bloody money
