It certainly has its purpose! Probably not for regular use with other mountain bikers, but a good training bike or to use with other single speeders!

Good work, like it a lot! Why have you routed the rear brake cable via the down tube?
So what are the exotic forks like??

Think you should build a 69er next? 8)

On the On One Scandal slot drop out frame, that is the way the rear hose is routed!
The Exotic forks feel really nice. They seem to absorb more than what you would expect them to do! With not having front suspension you do have to hang onto the bars harder, but it's good fun and makes you think about the rocks differently!

As for the next project, I'm always on the look out for the next interesting frame to paint!

    No problem!
Strip your frame and send it up to sunny Yorkshire and I'll get it done, obviously there will be a charge, but it won't be as expensive as what you think!

I'm actually enjoying the whole experience!
The tyres are very grippy even on loose stuff. I went for the 2.0 and not the 2.3's because I wanted to save on weight, but they roll and stick well! Highly recommended!
I've been out 3 times since finishing the bike on Friday and I've just blasted a 30 mile route tonight and knocked 15 mins off my best with riding single speed! The hills are killers, but great fun and a very good work out. :P

Try single speed if your not already!

Gents, I'm seriously considering my next build as a 29er. One of my concerns are how much slower the handling and steering is on tech singletrack...Be interested in your views???

Dude, They are quicker!!!! especially round our neck of the woods! ok marginally slower it the tight twistys but it more than makes up for it on the climbs and the flat out bit and over the rough stuff. I'm only up the road from you and your more than welcome to try it out one day.

FCN 3 or 4 on road depending on clothing
FCN 8 off road because I'm too old to go racing around.

I've not noticed that I'm any slower on the single technical tracks. If any thing, I wipe the floor with my 26er riding mates even more!
One thing you do notice riding a 29er is that you don't thick twice about tackling rock/obstacles etc and when you thick that you can't make an obstacle, it's too late, your over it, even on the rigid to a point!

Cheers for the input! Exactly why I'm considering a 29er and as VWSB mentioned, not exactly gnarcore here in Essex ....Neeeeeeed to try one, despite JUST getting my inbred 26er dialed in to near perfection 8)

I know that TI frames are mint, but I prefer the look of the Scandal more over your other!
Start thinking about what colour your going to choose for that frame!

Ive got to be honest, Ive had a little spin on it and it feels lively and really springy. I dont like the colour and the only reason I didnt have it powder coated before is that I want to convince myself that its as good as you say first.
    Ohhhhhhh bugger.

    yellow

Would look good with all the black bits!

I tell you waht Tim, you must be a mind reader. Liam wants it Orange a little like the Haro we just got rid of. You never really saw the paint job on the Haro, but it was really good.
