No Facial hair and no sandals, just love the 29er's and thought I'd give a single speed a bash!
The paint job was done by a mate in North Featherstone in Yorkshire!

Probably because they want to keep the weight down and remove any movement from the bike and certainly me, I'm just giving it a go, but if I find that I take to a single speed from my geared version then who knows, I might like the rigid fork or even find I prefer a suspension fork!
The 29er does ride over stuff better than a 26er and sometimes, even with my other 29er, I tend to ride it with its forks locked out!

Hmm, I think I preferred the original black, to be honest. Especially given that the forks are bare carbon.

REALLY looking forward to seeing the complete build! although personally thinking about 2nd gen inbred 29er and 1x9 as my knees wont take kindly to SS....Be interested to hear what those exotic forks are like.....

    Hi!
I've never ridden a single speed before so I don't know if I'm going to enjoy it! It might finish up being a 1x9?

    Regards.
  • I think 29er single speeds are rubbish. No offence like.
    Ohhhhhhh bugger.

The frame when I got it had quite a bad gouge caused by the chain at point of the frames life which is why I painted it! :)

Gone for the Ergon grips for a bit of comfort with the bike being rigid and a mate of mine has donated his Specialized saddle to me! :D
This is the last picture now until the wheels turn up!

  • Eh VW Surfbum, what's that strange silver dangly thing on the back for and all those silver rings with teeth on???

PS. Do you suffer from vertigo with that seat post?

 gears as it should be!! I have to run a 400mm post to get the a decent leg stroke, hence wanting a 18" instead of a 16" which I thought would of been fine for a 5.10" fattie
