for lent i am going to give up trying to figure out why millions of people give up something for 40 days because they believe in some mythical hippy who had one too many mushrooms and his dad who actually did "rape" that mary bird in her sleep whilst joseph was snoring away, thats if you give any credence to their magical story book.

I was thinking I might give up chocolate. I eat far too much of the stuff.

I intend to give up pancakes. I will eat a load tonight just to get it out of my system then do cold turkey for 40 days - I did really well last year and managed a whole 12 months without them, hoping to do the same this year.

Strangely enough I have the same thoughts re my chocolate mini-rolls except that in 12 months' time it will be something else I might consider giving up
