A truly excellent film and only just recently screened in a cinema in Bournemouth for the first time ever, although it was a private function.Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0 -
Let's not forget the sword fight sketch from The Holy Grail. "Come back here you yellow bastard, I'll bite your legs off!""I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0

Was listening to the soundtrack just the other day, fantastic in its own right too. Will have to rewatch the movie soon, think it's 50yrs old this year. The often used phrase 'They don't make them like that anymore' is rarely more appropriate.0 -
Another Eastwood classic:
Do you feel lucky, punk?"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -

Legion - the scene with the old women at the start. That's the only good scene in the film.
Prometheus - the scene where they bring the head back to life. Again the only good scene in the film.
A Beautiful Mind - the pen scene towards the end.
Ghostbusters - You can pick just about any scene.
The Goonies - The scene where Chunk has to talk his way out of being tortured by the Fratelli's.
Take The Money and Run - The scene where Woody is getting ready to go out on a date and coming his hair in front of the mirror.0 -
If we are talking specific short scenes instead of films overall then.....
Sandra Bullock's tear in Gravity. By far the best use of 3D I have ever seen, and possibly the only justification. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -

As mentioned above, Once upon a time in the West
Matrix - foyer scene.
Casablanca - play it Sam
There are otherwise too many for different reasons, scenery, story, script, fun0 -
The freeze frame near the beginning of Goodfellas when the young Henry Hill is running away (towards the camera) with the burning cars that he's just petrol bombed in the backgroundWilier Izoard XP0

Airplane:- "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue"

Threads - the nuclear detonation over Sheffield. Wiped out a few of those white rose tw*ts.0

The closing scene in the Long Good Friday when Bob is being driven off with a very young Pierce Brosnan. No words, epic sound track and an acting master class from Bob from the shoulders upwards.“Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring”
Desmond Tutu0 -

Brilliant choice, wish I'd thought of it myself.0 -
Godfather 2, the scene inside the house with Michael and Fredo overlooking the lake where Fredo finally coughs up to working for Roth - "You're nothing to me now..."

The church scene in High Noon, tells you what the film maker thinks of the American "decent middle classes" and for me defines the saying, "For evil to to triumph it requires only that good men do nothing"0
