I doubt Bassons is all that bothered on a personal level. It was nearly 12 years ago after all. Armstrong was far from alone in his actions.Twitter: @RichN950 -

I agree... he sounds pretty level headed, and happy... I liked this quote:“The one thing I would add about Armstrong is that I’m not sure he’s as proud of the person he is today as I am of myself. Whatever you do in life, you have to accept the consequences of your actions, like I accepted the consequences of my decision to get out of cycling, without looking back. So I hope that he has the mental resources and the money to deal with the consequences of what he’s done all these years, I really do. But I also hope that truth comes out. And I don’t envy Armstrong, that’s for sure…”0 -

McQuaid on Kimmage story: I read some of it. It got boring half-way. I’ll read the rest on a plane. It was just boring. about 3 hours ago via web
Bleeedin' heck- one of the most important, fascinating, nay, may I say seismic, interviews and this is the response of the President of the UCI.
I do have sympathy... I'm a teacher, but once I've left work the last thing I want to think about is school. I'd rather have red hot needles poked in my eye than watch Waterloo Road for example. I reckon McQuaid would much rather read a bit of Jilly Cooper than wade through Kimmage's verbiage.
Oh please, pleeese, make him be sitting next to a cycling fan on the plane. And may it be a very long flight.0 -
McQuaid is clearly too complacent (and maybe complicit?) if he thinks the interview's boring. I would have hoped that people like him would sit up and take notice, regardless of their opinion of Landis.
Also, FWIW, the Tony Cascarino autobiography that Kimmage co-wrote is well worth a read. It's not in the same league as Rough Ride, but it has some great insights into the way that footballers see themselves and their attitude to the game (although doubtless these attitudes will have changed beyond recognition in the years since the book was published).0 -
An incredible interview, one of the most engaging things I've read cycling wise in quite a while. It's inevitable that some people will read this and *still* side with LA and call Landis a liar. I was a skeptic regarding Floyd, but after that............I'm on his side.0

Beat me to it, again.
Does this mean that Landis was actually not lying when relating this episode to Kimmage?
Wouldn't that make him credible?"Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0
