Bit of a waste spending 4 mins to do the first mile, think you might be quicker if you went off a more suitable pace. Not like a rocket ship admittedly, but faster than 4 mins for a mile, especially if you are a faster rider. If you are a 20 min 10 man, unlikely you will ever get past by your minute man
Also if you ride with no computer, how do you know it has taken you 3 -4 mins to do a mile :?0 -

15mph for the first mile is Cycle Touring Club pace. Yet the poster claims he then converts this into a 20 minute ride!
My a*se!
I am still getting over the hilarity of his last fairy tale which he he recounts thus:I have a Dolan Aria, with a mavic disc, and a mavic 5 spoke front. first time out on a 10 mile tt i did a 19-39 then on a 25 did a 52-27 using 56 x 11-18
just pedal thats all you need to do
Just another sad bullsh*tting person..0 -

So I thought pacing a 10 was tricky!
First 25 today, and it was an eye opener compared to a 10, deliberately took the first 2 miles slow(er), and picked up from there, at the end it became apparent that I probably paced it a little to conservately, still, its always a learning curve, managed a 1:00:53.0 -

Wow Dan, 53s off a gold standard for your first 25, I think you need to be telling us some tips!
Was gutted I couldn't race today due to work, reckoned it would have been a good introduction for me. Went out this afternoon on a training ride and did 1:13 on mixed back roads. Would have been very happy with a sub 1:10 today at the race.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

my strategy for saturday was make the most of the tailwind, get up to speed quickly, hold it on the way out, hit the turn hard, (or multiple turns, it being the uh30) and hold as much power back up the slope, into the slight headwind as i could. ended up with a PB of 21.18, breaking the 28mph barrier for the first time.0

It was a very good day for it, ideal conditions really, the event was very well ran and marshalled too, so a good job from VCN0
