Superb conditions today, dry and dusty-ish with just a hint of moisture to hold it all together. One of those days when you can just ride round without battling against the elements.

Upper/lower cliff highly raggable, I had to go round again for another run. try not to get carried away like i did and fall off (3 times) :)

Just relaxing now with a pint of tea and some choc hob nobs nom nom nom

oooo I'm a dirty boy! Has been raining overnight and this morning - was up the dog and monkey today bright and early and it is a bit messy - loads of puddles and that sticky mud in quite a few places... If the rain holds off it'll be fine in a day or so.

I was sh1t bound from head to toe. Hosed myself down in the garden before a shower!

Apart from that it was pretty good - quite a few out and about.

I used to ride follow the dog every week and stopped just before christmas, and im itching to get back on it. Has there been any new sections or is it the same as about 3 months ago. The last time i went there was some sort of wooden structure beeing built, is this a new feature?. I usually go wednesdays and make a day of it anybody welcome to join.

There's less now, S11 is closed, and the wooden structure is not complete yet.

'twasn't too bad later in the day - bit of light mud splatter but generally riding pretty well and a corker of an afternoon - clear blue skies and very spring-like 8)

Planning on going on Sunday. Any idea if it's dried out/recovered from the winter wetness?

It was so nice going up the next 4 days in a row, just got back from uni and the conditions are brilliant, last time I got to ride there it was covered in snow/ice :D

I don't think I've been there for about 4-5 months! Been doing a fair bit of road riding so hopefully that'll pay off on the climbs.

Buffer than buff at the moment.

In fact it's so dry it's starting to crumble in places and those loose, nasty pebbles are all slippery and covered in dust. What it needs now is a bit of rain and a couple of thousand tyres...

Was just about to put down, I was there Tuesday night, first time since the back end of autumn ,and was thinking it will probably be too dry over the next coming weekend , with no rain in sight.
The place dosnt seam to have had much luck with the weather since the opening of the monkey trail & tb,I do think the winter has added a bit more character to some of the ftd sections mind, bit more rooty and rocks poking through, shame about the berms and rollers on tb though

What a lovely day today! Dry as a bone but with some loose pebbles like marbles in places. The new bit of black is open now, by the other rock garden bit. Quite technical especially the first drop - straight after a tight berm which makes it hard to hit with any speed. Good addition though

Was there last thursday and weather was brilliant! Both FTD and MT dry as a bone. I rode both of these last year (october & december) and found that this time there were a couple of new sections on the monkey trail (not including black sections). Took me by suprise but are cool additions 8)
There are some crumbly bits here and there and with loose pebbles etc which made for some quick line changing from rubble left by the person in front of me but just adds to the ride :D

    Was there this week.
As said, bone dry but very rutted.
The start of the new black section looks very tasty. After watching somebody get it wrong and butt a tree I thought I'd leave it for another day

Are the two new black sections open now? Both were still closed off when we were there 3-4 weeks ago... Only the two black rock gardens on Upper Cliff (which have been there since I first rode it a while back).

Was there yesterday. Dry and dusty (but very loose) conditions. First time in ages I've not had to clean my bike after riding. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

The new black section near the first section of rock gardens is open. Though I wasn't sure how to tackle the first drop. It's quite big so would want to drop it rather than roll it but I couldn't get any speed to do that as it's directly after a tight turn. I'd be interested to know how others are tackling it? The rest of the section contains some very tight and awkward rock gardens which again would be straightforward if you could hit them straight on. All interesting stuff though and it's great to see new sections being added. I liked the little log bridge just before the climb up Upper Cliff - there's a trail here off to the left before the bridge, so where does that originate from?

^^^^ That first drop is tricky and you are right, the problem is getting speed after the first tight berm..... definately not rolling or it's over the bars time! I just take the berm fairly slow and high and then get a couple of hard pedal strokes coming down the berm and haul up hard on the bars. A better rider would manual it, but again, there aint much set up time! There is a tree to the right of the drop that mentally scares me as if you don't hit the drop right it is gonna hurt!

Again as you mention the rock gardens are tricky mainly because of their entrance - just like the first drop, tight turning into them...... they look like they would hurt if you got them wrong!

But heeegh, they graded it black and I for one would moan if it were too easy - fair play I say for making it a git!

The trail above that is Mad Hatter/Arse Over Tit.

It's not ready yet and we'd rather people stay off it for now.

lovely conditions today. Beautiful cool sunny weather and the trail was just how I like it - dry but some light rain possibly overnight that makes the trail hold together for good grip.

There are still some corners with marbles all over them that can catch you out if you're not careful.....

Beautiful morning today - again conditions good but getting progressively more dusty and slippery with the pebbles on the track. Some sections are quite cut up, but heegh, still good.

Can't believe I'm saying this but hoping for a bit of rain to stick things together again......followed by some nice weather to ride in. 8)
