Pete, I'm still battling my own demons atm, but I check in everyday to see if Amelia has improved.
My thoughts are with her and you and your family

    Hi again,

Some wonderful news in that Amelia is getting better by the day. She is going to survive this and is on the road to recovery. It is early days but Great Ormond st have advised she has come so far in 48 hours that she may be moved back to Bristol within days. This of course frees up life saving kit and staff for others. We are still awaiting true evaluation of the stroke but remain positive given that evidence suggests most very young stroke victims make a full recovery due to how the neurological pathways develop and repair so here's hoping on that front.

So again thanks so much for the feedback and support - as I've said over several pages it has helped me as much as anyone such was my menal welfare as this unfolded. I will be doing a charity ride over the coming months but more on that as and when it's sorted.

    Best wishes to all,

    Pete.

That's exactly what we all hoped to hear but couldn't promise. She'd still got mountains to climb but she's on the way back. I'm very glad for you.
  • Pete,

Don't think I've had the good fortune to have met you in person,
But my thoughts are with you all.

Personally, I've had a fair bit of bad news over recent months.
and now it's time for some good news.

Like others, I'm not religious - but god willing it starts here!
And if they are thinking of moving her, the signs must be good.

    Take care
    Chris

Pete, this is very good news. Kids can be tough even whilst they are so little and vulnerable. Let us know about a charity ride. I don't "do" prayers but I might be able push a pedal in a good cause :)

Well this has brightened up my morning to hear she is recovering and hopefully she will not suffer any permanent effects from the stroke. Fantastic!!!
  • So glad things are on the up, I'm sure Amelia will make a full recovery and in years to come Uncle Pete will be able to tease her about it in some way.

    Made up for you.

    Hi all,

Just a quick update to advise things have been fantastic for Amelia. She was transferred back to Bristol around two weeks ago which means I have been in and out of the childrens hospital saying hello.

Went in on Monday morning and was amazed and delighted to find out that she was being sent home that afternoon with follow up after care over the coming months. She is hopefully going to make a full recovery from the stroke and we can see more and more movement on her left side daily. She is really coming back to her old self now, babbling away making us laugh out loud. Such a gorgeous baby.

So again, thanks for all the kind replies here. People in my family read this thread from start to finish and all were touched by the kindness of people world wide. Sorry ive not posted in a while, but been pretty full on here.

    Regards for now.

    Pete.

  • Fantastic news!!

I did something I never do, which was send a prayer for Amelia when I first found this thread a while back. Children are very tough little things, and I'm glad that you and you're family are able to relax knowing that Amelia is in the best care!!
