Thanks all.
Little Amelia still critical but fighting. It's all about time now.
We are all still preying and cannot convey how much heart messages here have given both me and family. Really, truly appreciated. I managed to get out and do a slow 30 miler yesterday and cleared my head a little though Amelia was on my mind all the way around.

Keep us in the loop Pete, I think it's safe to say we're all thinking about her and her family0 -
That's so good - I'm delighted that she's fighting and that you've had a chance to get out on the bike. Best possible thoughts with you and yours.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

I woke up this morning at about 5:00 AM, looked out the window only to see heavy snow falling and the first thing that went through my mind was 'I hope little Amelia is winning her fight'.0

It's very little, but I dedicate today's paltry 20 miles of cycling to her, hell, I've even managed to get another 50 miles in since the new year, she can have them too. I'll gladly add it to your 30 miles of cycling for Amelia.
So that's 100 miles of cycling for Amelia, I'm sure we can add to that.... She still has a long painful way to go. We can, in some futile, symbolic way, accompany her through her suffering.0 -
Hope things improve soon, like Mean Red Spider I'm another who has had a young child go through cancer and the one thing I have learned is that kids seem to fight harder than you would think possible. Amelia and your family are in my thoughts and I'll say a few words to the big man.0

Kick on little one.. hang in there and give it everything. You're in are thoughts and we will you on.
Strength to your family too. Mum and dad stay strong and positive.
To all who care for in hospital... our thanks.
Hope you're soon cycling next to your uncle Pete. Why tidy the house when you can clean your bike?0 -

For what it,s worth Pete when i was born i was diagnosed with Asthma and there were other serious lung related problems aswell which meant that for the first six months of my life i was rushed into hospital on a number of occasions. At one point my condition was so poor that the Doctors told my parents that i probably wouldnt make it, but i did and here i am 47 years later. Hope you can take some inspiration from this and Amelia pulls through Mate, really do.

I will say a very deep and silent prayer for Amelia and all her family.
Remain positive as we all are for you. x0 -
Another quick update.
Amelia was taken off dyalisis last night and nurses say she is making headway. Still very early days but Laura was able to touch her through the incubator last night and Amelia squeezed her finger hard though eyes remained shut. So, day by day sounding better than the day before and I thank everyone for thier thoughts and wishes.
Personally it has meant the world to me.
On another note, I have decided to set up a ride to Great Ormond St when Amelia is better and get some sponsorship going. Distance wise easily done for us roadies, just with meaning and a destination and a chq at the end. Just a small way of giving something back I feel.
Thanks again.

Pete,
set a donation line up through Justgiving, then maybe we can all contribute something. Really pleased that things look a little more positive0 -

Thanks for the update, Pete. And great news that Amelia seems to be on the long road beck home. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you all.0

My thoughts and prayers are with little Amelia. Keep strong little one, there are many people wishing they could do more to help you through this.

Good news and I'm sure it will all get better quickly from now on. GOSH is a great place (as is the Children's Hospital for Wales).0

Good news, keeping everything crossed she keeps on pulling up.0

Thanks again all.
Good news and bad news today, the bronchitis has cleared up and the sedative dosage has been lowered. It seems her aural senses are coming back. However the hospital have advised that she has suffered a stroke and at present her left side seems paralysed. Again It's early days and she may improve as the sedative wears off but that is the latest. I hope this is the case but of course Amelia has a lifetime of help from her family if needed.
I feel little more upbeat today but yesterday was hard. One day at a time but again thanks and as ever my family appreciate the good wishes from all. I do feedback how the cycling community has been thinking of her and i am now convinced the power of thought has helped.
Best wishes to all,

Thanks for the update, its a step in the right direction heres hoping she makes a 100% recovery.0

I said before that I didn't do prayers but last night before bed I did something I haven't done for thirty years and said a word to what ever god there is for Amelia.
Fingers crossed Pete that the effects of the sedatives are causing some of the issues0 -

Sorry Pete, only just spotted this (I almost called into see you over Xmas @ shop - but my son was in meltdown - so would have been a terrible idea)
My best wishes and prayers go out for your niece and will say a few words tonight.

Hi
Just found this post. Struggling to keep tears back. I've been touched by everyones experiences and comments. As a dad to a 4 year old,I just can't imagine how difficult it must be to experience a similar situation and naturally hope that I never have too. Please pass on my positive thoughts and best wishes to Amelia and your family. I look forward to reading positive news over the next few days.0 -
Amelia's illness has taken her so far away nobody can know exactly how or when she'll return, but at this stage, the only important part is that she's on the hard climb back and that people who love her are praying for her to get back, no matter how long it takes.0

Amelia and your family are in my families prayers this evening and onwards until I hear she has recovered.
all the very bestSTOP!......... Carry on!

Pete,
Though I haven't commented before this thread has constantly been in my thoughts the whole week. Growing up, I have seen both my mum and dad spend long stints in hospital. Words are inadequate when describing the emotions, however, I can truthfully say that my thoughts are with you two.You live and learn. At any rate, you live0 -
Only just stummbaled accros this thread but I'm glad I did. The way the whole cycling community has come together with kind words and support for you and your family is amazing to me. I can't think of another group of strangers that would pull together in the same way, makes me very proud to call myself a cyclist.
My thoughts are with you and your family through these hard times.
