mudguard boss thread stripped

ello, I stripped the tread on the mudguard boss on my steel framed bike. ANy ideas on how best to remedy? Drill out and use a thread reducer? If so where can I get them? Thx in advance. Fidd

Assuming you're meaning the one on the dropout, use a
P-clip
on the seatstay.

P-clip or see if you can find someone to fit an 5mm Helicoil
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Chase the threads or cut one size larger, both of which require the right tools.

Lidl have a tap and die set from M3 to M12 nuts and bolts for £6. an absolute bargin...

Hi
You can buy a M5 Helicoil thread repair kit on ebay for £15.
It would give you a permanent solution and the thread would be stronger than original.

i had forks, bosses imperial size, lbs tapped them to metric, no charge, new bolts - too cheap to even remember!
