-8 predicted for the morning, might need an extra layer.
I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.

    From top to bottom:

    Helmet
Bolle Viper safety glasses (clear lens)
    Buff
    Massive grin
Crane Sports LS compression base layer
Cycle Show full zip LS jersey
    Decathlon windproof softshell
    Polaris 3/4 tights
adidas lined(why is adidas always written without a capital a?) tracksuit bottoms
    Sports socks
    adidas tennis shoes
    Decathlon overshoes
    Specialized BG fingerless mitts
    Decathlon winter gloves

Toasty for -2. Have to unzip the LS jersey halfway about halfway into my commute.

When I get into the office I change into my workwear but keep the massive grin (now with extra smugness).

Yesterday I was in bibtights, sheepskin boots, fleece socks, dress, fleece and a waxed jacket. Oh and some gloves.

    That's quite a <ahem> look.

Be prepared for frozen gears/cables! Seems to strike my old Kona about -8C. I actually wonder whether bringing it in to thaw after the first ride causes the problem. Anyhow - OT - sorry.

Kind of Country Life meets Procycling, I imagine. I don't know of a relevant magazine that would apply to the gimp hat, I'm afraid.

    Castelli winter gloves

    Toasty, if not somewhat poncy.

What? Surely this is a typo, no?

Sadly not, the Castelli L/S is in the wash  . The DHB is 4 years old now but still lovely and cosy.

Erk, it may well do.

Think you could be right on the temperature, had the free hub on my bike freeze at around minus 5 last year....decided this year to try and avoid the risk by keeping it as dry as possible. Haven't washed the bike this week to try and avoid getting water anywhere near the internals.

Didn't someone post a picture a while back of a well known pro cyclist wearing something remarkably similar to what you describe. In fact it may have been JG who posted it...
