So,

As I have been off work for most of this week, I have been in my dressing gown.

However, when I get back on the bike on Friday:

Merino baslayer
Long sleeve jersey
DHB jacket
Winter gloves
Buff on head and one on Neck
Roubaix tights
DHB waterproof shorts
Thermal socks
Overshoes

Think I may expire.....

    Shorts

Some cheap AlpKit socks I got in the sale

The only thing I could probably do with is some better gloves, they are rather thin

Same Swrve 3/4s that I've been wearing all year round.
Football socks over the usual normal socks.
    T-shirt
    Penguin tracky top
    Waterproof
    Gloves with fingers
Sensibly protected my head today with a cap+hat combo. Awesome solution for keeping snow out of face and head warm.

    Umm, from top down....

    Helmet
    Aldi skull cap
buff over back half of head and chin
    buff for neck
Aldo Merino base layer (brilliant thing - too big for me so sleaves nicely long that I can wrap glove liners over them)
    Aldi soft shell jacket
    Aldi fluoro jacket
    ShuttVR bib shorts under
    ShuttVR roubaix tights
    Silk glove liners
    Seal Skins cold weather gloves
    Seal Skins merino liner socks
    Seal skins waterproof merino socks
    Northwave Celcius boots
Aldi overshoes (zip on way out - BBB overshoes won't be a moment too soon).
    Faster than a tent.......
  • BTW - the thread's a bit pointless without indicating what temp you're dressing up for. I wear entirely different gear for -10C to 0C to +10C. Even -10C to -5C removes a layer.

    Just a thought

    Pretty similar to iPete's set-up - for me it's...

Gore Path Jacket (if it's raining / snowing / sleeting)
or a Gore Phantom II Softshell (if it's not!)

    Merino Buff (Balaclava style)
    Canterbury 'cold' short sleeved baselayer
    Bib-shorts
    Santini Roubaix Leg-warmers
    Surface shorts
    Woolie Boolie socks
    Pro X-Pert WP Gloves

Could do with getting some overshoes or winter boots, but will see how I get on and work on that for next year I reckon...

Inside helmet, two Buff ski "snoods" for toasty double layer effect.

Top half - two base layers (one from Decathlon), a Decathlon fleece and on top an Altura night vision top in glorious hi-viz yellow.

Bottom half - Tschibo ski long johns, Lidl padded tights on top (vintage 2005)

Feet - Decathlon socks, Shimano MTB shoes.

My middle name is Cheapskate, by the way, but this stuff does the job.

    Happy sliding chaps!
