Interestin'. stayed in and around Bridport (home of Palmers) many times and have been into their shop for a selection - very nice it was too, especially the Best Bitter and Copper Ale IIRC - but have yet to manage to get a tour yet.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! A pleasant Sunday lunch at the Sun in Carshalton (always a good bet for the less mainstream pint), accompanied by a very nice pint of Acorn Breweries' Old Moor Porter. Unusual in being full flavoured without a high abv.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

I'm normally a Guinness drinker but I went to the Captain Kidd in Wapping High Street a few weeks ago and they only do Samuel Smith's.
The stout and bitter went down very well and I normally HATE bitter.
Well worth a try if you are in the East End/Canary Wharf area. A very pretty pub in the Summer too.FCN = 40 -
I know the one. Good boozer, that. Rode back from there once along the pavé and felt like I was doing the Paris-Roubaix.0

Excellent pub. Was a short walk from where I used to work. Had drinks there on my last day.
Drinking Paulaner tonight. Does that qualify for this thread?FCN 2-4.

Another worthy year and my thanks for that. Beer is so good and ubiquitous that it suffers from ignorance. This year was another, quirky testimony to the importance of ale.The older I get the faster I was0
