At least this weather's good for one thing, keeping the beers cold! This thread has got me thinking, I've been tee total for over a week and haven't missed it. Must book a GP appointment for a checkup._________________________________________________

I have an alcohol problem...
Been dringing a bottle of red a night and topping up with a triple bourbon before bed (woodford's bourbon)
Added to a couple of Peroni (large bottles) on a Friday and Saturday night...
Have stopped drinking last week.......already lost 1/2 a stone...0 -

I like your writing style - they are fun to read!
You could try to pick some beers which might actually taste nice thoughFCN 4 - BMC CX020 -

Seriously? If so, you need to get a grip on this before it develops into a serious long-term problem. See your GP if you can't get by without a drink - are there other issues, personal, work, etc?
Really worried for you if you're drinking that much. Had a mate who was guzzling the juice, turned out he was missing his burd so much and hated his job. Once we got to the bottom of it he got it all under control. We went out a couple of weeks ago and got totally rat-ar5ed and ended up in this lesbian club....er...anyway...

Just spotted this thread. I once did security at an event where we got paid in beer - free Rodenbach all night! They didn't invite us back the following year...0

It was quite something to tackle at 10.30 last night.
Had a glass of port afterwards and it tasted weak in comparison.0 -
I remember after a tour round the Young's Brewery in Wandsworth (sadly missed) my friends and I repaired to the pub to sample some of what we'd just seen brewing. Of particular note was a barley wine winter-warmer type ale (I forget the name) which was about 9% ABV. One pint really was all you needed, but it was lovely, if somewhat sleep-inducing. I remember dozing off, then waking when the barman politely asked us to leave as they were closing.
EDIT: It was called Old Nick, but they don't make it any more, bottled or draught.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

Indeed. Best drunk whilst sitting in a high backed armchair in front of a slightly-too-hot log fire, after a nice long walk in the countryside. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)
