Call of Duty - Black Ops

  • i finished campaign today and in keeping with my own tradition tried multiplayer immediately after.

Singleplayer...I didnt really like it at all tbh. graphics was PS2 level, gameplay was PS1 level. story was not engrossing at all. say what you like about the storylines in MW1 or MW2...I was addicted from the start menu to the finale in both. I just found Black ops frustrating and difficult to like. By far the most annoying bit was waves upon waves of enemies coming at you constantly replacing the ones you kill. Unless you advance they just keep on coming...thats sooo annoying and lame.

Multiplayer...i like the different structure to unlocks etc.being able to get the addons that you actually want earlier I like. kill streaks are a little bit better, not too silly as MW2. oherwise its the same old stuff really. just with not as good guns imo

Im 25 my bf is 38 and he has bought this game, this makes me happy as it means I get pesterd less when I want to go on the bike or do a turbo session, this means I shall make him suffer immensley next time he comes riding with me as I shall get increasingly fitter as he becomes fat and lazy mwhahahaha. As far as I can tell he gives the game a tumbs up..

Hoping to have this when I get my birthday pressies later (another sad 38 year old playing war games  ). If not I'll be back on MW2. PSN login Pross72 - maybe we should have a [Bike] clan!

Yep, started playing through campaign yesterday and got to Vietnam so far. To be honest I never really enjoy the single player modes but just use them to familiarise myself with the game ready for MP. I might give the MP maps a go tonight but if I do I'll probably end up like I did with World at War and not finish the campaign!

Hehe - flushing out campers is the most fun thing on CoD.

    Sod the stats.

(The smoke grenade is most welcome...)

I hate f****** campers! Fortunately once you work out where they are they're usually easy to deal with and placing some C4 or a claymore in their favourite spot can be good. Glitchers are even worse as it takies ages to work out where they are!

Nothing wrong with camping. It's a fair fight.

I'm unbelievably bad at camping, but I massively enjoy duels with campers.

I think that's why I hate them - whenever I've tried I get killed straight away but they make it look so easy!

Haha yeah. It ruins your stats going after campers. Mutliple deaths for one odd kill.

Grudge matches are much more fun than racking up a 15 killstreak.

Nah, flasbang followed by either a cooked semtex or crossbow sorts them out easily.

They're well attuned to dealing with those though... (and you can't cook semtex!)

Just smoke out the area they cover, and then rush 'em.

Played Black Ops online for the first time last night - not overly impressed yet but might change my mind when I get used to the maps. There seems to be too much structure on a lot of the maps and I kept getting killed by people I couldn't see. The Nuclear Town map is probably the worst I've played, I went through 5 respawns in a row right in the middle of the opposition. I've never voted to skip a map before but will be when that next comes up!

Yeah the respawns do need work.

I like Nuke Town! It's a small map so all the action is fast paced, it's great in Team Deathmatch and even more hectic in Free For All.

    It's a lot like Rust in MW2 I think.

Problem I had was all their team was staying grouped in one area and I ended up spawning in the middle of them time and time again. Rust and the small map on MW1 were better as there were more routes available to get around the map. It may just be that I had a bad encounter with it as I've only played it once.

Personally, I like taking out campers with a sniper rifle from the other side of the map, but, but there's not as much opportunity for that as there was in MW2 :?

I too like Nuke Cul-de-Sac - well it's hardly a town is it - and for the same reason. It's just a bit of a mad blast like Rust is.

Would agree with some of the spawning issues though. A couple of them are just silly. I'm on the PC rather than console but I've found the spawning on the map Crisis to be particularly frustrating. Frequently spawning on the beach area surrounded by 3-5 enemies.

They are sorting out he spawn issue next patch, so we are told.

Just hit prestige 1 - lvl 35, and still finding it fun and experimenting with different weapon combos. I still have not played BC2 since Black ops came out.

    Much much better than MW2.

I also advise people unlock and use the attack dog kill streak, its brilliant!
