Easy one for me this, with a new baby, 12 hour shifts and massess of things to do around the house, I hate not being able to find the time to ride :evil:0

The bike is upside down, wheel off and then somebody fly's round the corner. You get the picture.
I hope my spelling is correct and iv used the correct abbri/ecr wotever u uz in a sentence b 4 any1 else.
Then again I dont give a BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8)
I hate that, I normally see 3 or 4 bikes scattered on the track and then they give you a look of disdain when you ask them if you can get past and they have to move their bikes.
My mate used to solve the problem by "trying" to bunny hop over the bikes left in the friggin' MIDDLE of the tracks. "Whoops...sorry mate...!"CAAD9

1. Realising that that waft of dog mess is not just coming from your tyre  .
2. Riding to the trails with ST tyres (it's put me off riding a couple of times this week despite it probably being the last good weather in months  ).0 -

That did make me chuckle, but I hope you're joking!
Mine would be other riders with no manners, and those on full carbon, full sus, etc etc who can't ride for toffee!
Yeah I wasn't being that serious, it's part of riding in woods and on common areas, just annoying when you come around a corner and you see a big pile of it in your path, a minor grumble.Training is like fighting with a gorilla. You don’t stop when you’re tired. You stop when the gorilla is tired.0 -
Dog walkers who use retractable dog leads! They see you coming down the trail/road/path. The dog is standing on the left and the walkers are standing on the right. Well that isn't going to work is it? Why don't they use the retractable tripwire and pull the dog onto the same side as they are standing?0

Thats what I hate most about MTB'ing.
if u want to type you instead of u, 'you' also should type 'Mountain Biking' not MTB'ing
MTB is an acronym for Mountain bike/ing.
U is just ruining our planet.
people who think MTB is an acronym when it is an abbreviation.
Yes, thats classic both mean the same, but clearly the thesaurus on Microsoft word gave him an other option
MTB isn't an acronym, really. Strictly speaking an acronym should make a word out of its constituant letters like, er... S.P.E.C.T.R.E in James Bond. MTB is kind of an initialism, I suppose, but not really even that.
Sorry, I mean: yeah, dog poo is sh!t!0 -

Ha, I sympathise. I rode in Dog Sh*t when I/ got my new bike earlier this year. I was in the middle of nowhere as well, was very annoying.
My main hate is punctures though, I seem to be cursed with them.0 -
Chainsuck.. and the thought that to replace the chain related hardware is gonna cost some big bucks!0

Definately the Expense of Mountain Biking.
Certainly not the cheapest of sports.0 -
- Washing the bike and other kit (though can also be quite satisfying - weird hey?)
- Wet, off-cambre roots
- Changing tyres for commuting / training, racing in different conditions etc etc etc
- The way horses and 4x4s totally carve up bridleways and byways
- Having to drive for ages to get to some decent trailsScott Scale 20 (for xc racing)

4) Riders who think they have the god given right to barge their way past slower riders
^This^
And the large group of riders that stop either on the trail or blocking the entrance to the next bit of trail to have a breather\tell tall tales\wait for lost mate\etc but while doing so ensure that no one can either get past or continue unimpeded.
To these people I say "ffs don't do it by the singletrack, wait till your on that 20ft wide bit of fire road and pick a side"
And riders that barge past ladies, way to go Brutus!
Rant over, think I'll go get a cup of tea0 -

You talk about products not being as nicely made as they once were, yet you talk about two of the worst products ever designed
The Nolan Forks are very good products. Linkage forks work very well , no flutter little or no twisting and very little brake dive. Only real draw back is the limited travel . Granted the kirk frames were a bit pants design wise but build quality was quite good as long as the paint was well maintained. When you look back at how many old parts are still running compared to new parts build was much better. Nolans design went on to inspire the AMP linkage forks .
Compare that to modern Marzocchi forks that you pay hundreds of pounds for but are damn awful compared to their older forks.0 -
getting there, for a really good play in the mud I need to get the bike rack out etc, Esher woods is 30 min ride away and in parts has some okay bits.0

I'm very good at this :?
And I then spend the rest of the ride being cross with myself for being such a wimp. Always good for the confidence that!Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away....

i want a teflon coated bike where the mud just sheds off like water off a ducks back.
Ha ha
Don't know if you do this, but when I wash the bike, which is about as often as you've stated above!
I cover the entire bike (except the brakes!) in MucOff Bike Spray. The dirt doesn't stick and indeed does slide off.
I've just been trying polishing my bike frame with WD40 sprayed onto a cloth and then applied to the bike. Brilliant.... water just beads off it. And it really helps put a sheen to the semi matt paint on mine.
As for things I hate.... going up hills. Even though I know it'll be worth it. Ah well ... no pain... no gain and all that.
And dogsh!t. yes... literally my pet hate. Why can't the lazy tw4ts just clean it up!!. It's not as if it's actually that feckin difficult is it??!?!?!?!?!?
As for mardy peeps on the trail... not experienced that so far at Gisburn and round Calderdale. Most folks seem really friendly and will always stop to check you're ok if you happen to be fettling your bike by the side of the trail (as happened to me last Sunday).Cool, retro and sometimes downright rude MTB and cycling themed T shirts. Just MTFU.
