There aren't many people who are active on both are there!? I feel like a small minority.
might i be the first to suggest a rival schools style fight.

we meet up in a neutral trail centre and throw down.
i reckon we can take em.

Whilst trying to remain impartial I suspect you'd be wrong, there are some very very quick riders on STW, it appears less so here!

Who said anything about girly shaved leg XC type racing and speed.

Were talking a proper eat as much bacon as you can with a hang over and then race down hill with out chucking kinda racing here :p

I didn't say anything about the quick people on STW being XC types either!

Yeh but seriously, you think they could win with the bacon eating and not throwing up in there?

I'm mean we have El cap for this... no one stands a chance.

I read both, but don't post on STW...no reason really.. you get mongs on both forums (as with any internet forum), but you get decent people on both too. Can't stand Pinkbike (apart from the PODs and VODs) as half the people can't spell or use grammar (thanks for proving my point jay12! ).

To be honest I just like to find other people who are happy to talk bike-related bollocks all day so I feel less weird about my obsession with these two wheeled machines. I don't really care about the politics or which discipline/forum/mod/magazine is better - I have enough bickering to deal with in the real world and this is supposed to be fun!

    +1

It seems most people who use both are rather more level-headed than the 'torch and pitchfork' brigade!

Used to post on STW a few years back but got sucked into a Daily Mail/Daily Express type argument about immigrants or coloureds or single mothers anyway something like that and have never been back since. Just got the impression there was a lot of little englanders with some toxic views about anyone who didnt drive a shiny german car and have a 5 bed semi in surrey. Shame really because I suppose most of the peeps on there are okay just the place seemed to be run by some right knobbers.

It\'s not what you ride, it\'s THAT you ride that counts
  • I go on singletrack, here and pinkbike.
Pinkbikes crap, its only good for videos and pictures, but knobs will comment on them inevitably.

Singletrack and here are both O.K forums with many more decent folk on both than there are on Pinkbike.

I just love the Njee takes every comment so serious.. makes me want to troll so hard...

But on the whole it's a forum, with people who are meant to be discuss relevant topis. To be honest taking the micky out of what buying threads on a bike forum is kinda comedy and catching at straws.

Chances are I wont meet most of the people on here, and couldn't give a monkies what they think lol. it's obvious what forums people enjoy and populations of like minded people tend to group together.

But i still maintain on a bacon eating then riding while not chucking compo we could wind damn it!
  • I'm appalled at the way a harmless discussion between people with a similar interest has to turn in to a polarised argument with threats and abuse aimed at those who hold a slightly different opinion on BR.

That would never happen on STW, oh no.

I think everyone should just chill out and all have a group hug.

    *hugs everyone*

    And then have some cake.

    And a bacon sandwich.

    And possibly another bacon sandwich.

    Then some Pake...

It would be a decent event, that's for sure. I know of a few STWers who can pack away a bacon sarnie or six....

More of a cake man myself, but I'll give it a go.....

I have plenty of time on my hands. Maybe I should become a BM regular as well? 8)

Thats awesome!.... this forum is WAY better....! more name calling and general stupid arguments, occasionally about important stuff like the origin of the universe, (basicly a forum vs Joshtp debate, but it was good) mostly about whether pasta or rice is better, or which ladeeeee Sheeps wants to have a go on today.

    i like BR.

also, we have more £1000 what FS threads, the most interesting by far.:lol::lol::wink::wink::wink:

ST is just a total ST. too many orange 5's and hippies, and even orange 5 hippies!

there was a good thread about picolax once though.

  • Alas for you mtbers you mostly miss the awesomeness that is the pure quality of DDD in the commuting section :D
If the STW's caught a whiff of that they'd keel over in seconds. Long live BR ;)

Down with this sort of thing.

DDD? The size of that lasses 'chest' in Total Recall?

I only likened this place to MBUK due to it being run by the publishing company of that magazine (and admittedly many others). Whether that description matches up in reality I couldn't say as I don't spend that much time on here... :)

I think we should have a race. Pit the fastest BR rider against the fastest from SanitryTowel, and the loser (or winner, depends on how the rider from BR does) wins! and the other forum must be closed, and all the members burned at the stake.

our rider should be appointed by a committee of Yeeha, sheeps, super, el cap, and another CC regular yet to be decided.

he (me, obv, i am the fastest) will then go head to head in a bacon-cake eating contest, the winner of which will get a 5 second head start in the race.

alternatively we could have a categories event. So El Cap would have the Bacon and coffee eating contest sown up, SS would nail the bike fixing/tech bit, and yeeha/sheeps (they are like one person) would win the random answers/perv section.

oh, and 360 would win the best avatar comp.
