I'm pretty sure there will be some members bitching about Nick and I, but if they didn't behave like utter knobs they wouldn't have been banned hehe
  • God, STW is so full of self-righteous folk who are propelled by there own smugness.

So, apparently, we are all children over here, who ask too many questions and are not 'witty' enough? That seems to be the general consensus over there.

They seem to think if a tad odd that people genuinly need and appreciate a forum with a decent buying guide. Well, they are probably all on 6 figure salaries over there. I fail to understand what is odd about 'what bike to buy for £1000'....

Obviously we are all 'new' to the sport and you mods are no better...:lol:

Well, you all know my views on the place. It seems that some people are still a little bitter about getting banned....

I think surfmatt missed his emoticon off the end "I am also banned  "

One of them says that it is more mature over there - they have serious discussions about getting the snip, circumcisions and my favourite topic heading ever....

More what £1k full sus? on Bikeradar, more pig-headed know-it-alls on STW. Balances out really
More pig headed knot-it-alls on STW?
Seems I'm in the wrong place.

This is the thing, some people don't visit forums to help others, or discuss bikes, or join in debates - they go to try and tell everyone they are better than everyone else.

Like I said, I think I'm in the wrong place. Maybe I should go off to STW instead?

might i be the first to suggest a rival schools style fight.

we meet up in a neutral trail centre and throw down.
i reckon we can take em.

they'll all be granola eating, mail reading, spritzer drinking, 2 wheels on the ground riding vegans on fragile race xc bikes.

we be all bacon eating, hairy chested (cept jay), porn loving, muddy, ugly bastards on proper double hard, my dads bigger than yours, mens bikes.

So they'll just ride off quickly in a Frenchy manner and we won't be able to catch them?

    BR has its good points.

But if you ask a tech question - only 2 people are allowed to answer - nicklousy and sub-supersonic.

I've given a couple of very bike specific answers to newcomers over there (eg what size bearing balls are in the headset races of a GT avalance 1.0 2008). I replied 1/16th - 0.1678mm or whatever it was) to which the OPs answer was - supersonic / niclouse: can you please confirm. FFS over a 99p replacement.

I stopped after that. Here is better, you'd get an answer to the same quesion and folk wont post unless a: they're taking the piss b: they know what they're talking about.

    Yes it is . . .
  • Seems to me like most of the ones there doing the whinging are the ones who were chucked off here for being fcukwads.

I honestly couldn't give a rats ass, I've tried the forums there, on Pinkbike, SDH and here. I spend most of my time here though.

Never bother with Pinkobvious or STW because I dont like them, and don't spend much time on SDH these days either although it can be pretty good on there.

Never been to STW, but I imagine they all ride marins with clipboards on the bars. They all have beards (huge ones) and carry a thermos of borvil instead of gnarly robinsons or whatever got left in your camelbak from last time (fermented lucozade anyone? <burp>)

But, as I said, I've never been there. Same as china. Never been there too.

    **waves at STW posters**

There aren't many people who are active on both are there!? I feel like a small minority.

Whilst trying to remain impartial I suspect you'd be wrong, there are some very very quick riders on STW, it appears less so here!

Its funny, I don't think you should take any of it too serious, but I post in both forums and there's definitely a different culture and demographic between the two i was keen to explore.

i never joined stw becuse they sound liek a bunch of tools i spent most of my time on biek radar and a fair bit on pinkbike as it's a more dh, freeride, 4x based forum and as i ride those categories most often i think it's a good idea to be on pinkbike, also it's more multi national so thats cool

I think with forums you find a home and settle, much the sameas i did with Walsall FC forums, there is big rivallry between the two main ones

But because of that I won't make any uneducated and petty remarks about the users of STW, all l will say though is that I'm sure Singletrack Worlds and Middle Earth are twinned :wink:

This. Very different people on each, and different conversation.
