Ridiculous. I can't even hit that sprinting flat out at the moment.
Favourites won't be out till much later.

Zabriskie into 2nd place. The final part of his race was faster (12 seconds) than Cancellara, but not fast enough to overtake him.
Leif Hoste is having one of his rare good days and is currently 2nd at the 2nd time check, ahead of Zabriskie, Millar and Ignatiev.
(edit) Hoste into 2nd place (30 seconds behind Cancellara) at the finish, his final third of the race was 7 seconds faster than Cancellara.0 -

So how much time are J-Rod and the Zeke Man going to lose to His Nibs?
Last long flat TT J-Rod did at the end of a GT, he was 10'-17" behind Super Fab in 154th position (TdF 2010 St. 19 52km).0 -
Apparantly Canc has a bit of a cold, and prefers 'some hills' in his course.
Anyone want to explain the latter?0 -
I think they'd both be lucky not to lose 2 minutes.0

Stave off the boredom of riding a flat TT on a straight road through the desert?* Or maybe that's just us TV viewers who think like that.
* Like that one Menchov won a few years ago and David Harmon was minutes away from ending it all live on air.0 -

Nicholas Roche has a chance of gaining some time on the other top 10 GC guys...should certainly finish top 10 overall I would imagine-which is a very good result imo0

Does Hoste have a record for good flat TTs?
He sits so upright on his road bike I find it a little hard to believe.0 -
Blimey - just had a look at GC, and it's not unthinkable for Danielson to top 3 after today0

I thought exactly the same when I've just switched eurosport on!

Rick Chasey wrote:Grischa Niermann made up 36 seconds on Cancellara in the final 15km - got to be the wind.
Nearly every rider made up time on Cancellara, in the last few minutes, so it's definately the wind.0 -
Bernardus wrote:Nearly every rider made up time on Cancellara, in the last few minutes, so it's definitely the wind.
Yes the riders before Cancellara, and the riders after Cancellara all made up time on him, but it was some individual wind that only he saw, and not him mispacing it and dieing at the end...Jibbering Sports Stuff: http://jibbering.com/sports/0 -
Nibs front puncture....the mechanics offically 'panicked' then 'faffed'! Dont think he has a water bottle now :roll:0

Nibs mechanical0

Is it going to be 2nd year in a row dodgy wheel change will decide the Vuelta?Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0
-
Compare to when Menchov stacked it at the Giro... Nibs mechanics looked like chickens when their heads cut off.0
-
Re Cancellara, it was the same scenario at the Tour TT yet he was on the receiving end - most of the later riders had a strong wind to contend with. He hasn't been riding hard all Vuelta so maybe he wasn't here, although his ride was pretty damn fast.Contador is the Greatest0

Maybe Menchov should have tried after he lost that time. Now over an hour down on GC..................fighting spirit...or maybe no legsContador is the Greatest0

Writing in the Irish Independent this morning, Nicolas Roche detailed how he rode the time trial course twice, once on his road bike and once on his time trial machine, before putting in two hard 10km intervals behind a team car. He had also intended planned a 90-minute spin with his AG2R teammates, but was dissuaded from doing so by his father and former Tour de France winner Stephen Roche.
