I wasn't trying to impress anyone or be humorous either, I tend to leave the funny stuff to laugh-a-minute guys like your good self
Since we're on the subject of being anal though, I do find it quite ironic that whilst you accuse me of being thick and unfunny, you've spelt both intelligence and humour incorrectly0 -

Good for some things, arguably. But for what I most use a player for, completely useless.
that is its biggest downfall for me, id rather the volume buttons were skip buttons instead.
however, i have a bluetooth dongle and heaphones, the headphones have a toggle button which allows me to adjust the volume, skip tracks and pause without having to touch the ipod.
i wish you could make a tracklist on the move too, just line up the next song you want whilst listening to a track without ending that track immediately.0 -
also, WAIH, did you make that picture yourself? i love it.0

Who say's I can spell? never claied to be amazing at it, I'm good with numbers.
I just though your comment was ironic. At home I would have used a spell checker for the net but not at work. But picking up on spelling is a poor thing to do, how do you know if the typer is dyslexic or not.
I comment on content not on spelling, Picking up on someones spelling you know nothing about is anal, discussing the content of someones comments isn't.0 -

i'm pretty sure you can buy an inline remote that you can skip through songs with.
yip.. thought so...

Admittedly its £25, but you get new headphones as its all 1 unit. Theres also loads of aftermarket ones that do exactly the same such as sennheiser etc etc.
So yes, you can skip through songs without "having to take it out, look at it, press it then stick it back in my pocket"...0 -

There are way cheaper ones. The stock headphones come with a remote.
Not sure about on the touch, but you can hold the home button on the 3GS and say "next track" if you don't fancy taking your gloves off. Also works with the inline remote with mic.0 -
You really don't see why I would prefer to have the buttons on the actual player?0
-
yeehaamcgee wrote:You really don't see why I would prefer to have the buttons on the actual player?
you never said that.... you said you wanted to change tracks without taking a device out of your pocket!
if there were buttons on the player you would still have to take it out of your pocket to press said buttons or attempt to press them through your clothes.... which is the same as having an inline remote!0 -
but an inline remote is useless if you want to use a great pair of headphones you already have.
Actually, my running headphones aren't even particularly great, but they sound well enough, and cope with vast quantities of sweat without falling off my head, or breaking.
With my current player, if I want to skip a track, I just reack into my pocket, and press the button. I can carry on running, and I don't need to look at the device.
It's not the only reason I don't want an iPod touch, but it is ONE of the reasons I don't want one.0 -
Thats fair enough
i was merely pointing out that you can change track without having to get the iPod out your pocket :P0 -

Erm, so you're saying Apple products are "not or low quality"? I have to disagree...0 -
