Afternoon all,
A slightly less than semi awesome ride in this morning (maybe about 1/3 awesome?). Woke up this morning with a tight feeling in my left inner thigh, thought to myself “That’ll stretch out on the ride in”. Nope, still hurts. I did manage to practice my drafting a bit this morning, albeit behind a JCB. Nowhere decent to overtake cos of traffic so just sat in right behind him, you could feel the difference if you drifted to 1 side of him. Need to try latching onto a white van man next time.
Managed to find an old Nokia at home after my Ericsson died, will call O2 later and see if they can help me out early. Expect a “What phone?” thread soon (hopefully).
Half 5 the little 1 tried waking up this morning, I just went into his room, laid him back down again, told him “No chance” and walked out. He went back to sleep until just before 7. Expect a “2 year old up for adoption” thread soon.
My supervisor had his appraisal with our boss this morning. Apparently 1 thing that came up was that I hardly ever say anything when we’re on team conference calls and why is this. My supervisor said that he would have to ask me, so I am to expect a call from him at some point today. Now the reason I don’t say much is that I don’t have much to say. So if/when our boss rings me and asks “Shtuart, why ish it that you don’t shpeak sho much when we are having theshe team meetingsh?” (Yes, he’s Dutch) my response can simply be “Cos I have nothing to say”. Uncomfortable silence, end of phone call. I’m hoping the irony will be epically lost on him.

I never talk in meetings, I find them the most monotonous and pointless thing at work. I'm still expected to hold 5 team meetings every month and attend countless others where points are laboured, agendas are not followed and tangents are taken to the extreme.
I talk to my team constantly and most of the staff know if they've got a problem it's better to say now rather than wait for a month.Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.

:shock: you lot've been busy
I've just got back from some unexciting fire warden training. bloke sat next to me kept shaking his head in dismay every time the showed a fire on one of the videos.
The first thing the trainer said "Put your name badges where I can see them without staring!" which prompted a small rush of the women removing them from the breast area and the men from the crotch/waist area.
I'm now stuffing my face with a coffee/walnut cake0 -
