    Pineau out the back.

Slightly unfortunate the likely winner of the polka dot can't make it up HCs very fast.

According to France Televsion's on-screen statistics, Christophe Moreau has done the most work on the front of this breakaway and Cunego has done the least...

No, he's off the back because it's the Col de la Madeleine.

Pace picking up. Will Andy Schleck attack? Saxo doing the groundwork as BMC get blown out the back, like Sky the other day.

Vino attacks... "that boy is bonkers" according to ES, and I'm inclined to agree.

Vinokourov attacks for Astana. Or perhaps more accurately, for Vinokourov.

The controversial Vinokourov has about ten seconds on the main contenders

    Another Vino hater.

Doesn't exactly help his leader though does it? I reckon that's fair comment from CN, he is contraversial and he is attacking for himself.

The gap from the main group to the breakaway isn't changing much, which suggests the real pressure is yet to go on, if it ever does. The break might even stay away!

Maybe Contador will try and bridge to Vino and then get a pilot down the descent, but surely it's too far out from the finish for that?

More likely just a move to try up the pace in the GC group and cause a bit of a selection.

Or maybe just Vino trying to steal glory for great country of Kazakhstan.

Main group is still huge, around 50 riders...

Pretty basic tactic to send a guy up the road from your team and attack to have him help later. He would be particularly good use of the descent for Contador.

    Again from Cnews:
e break reaches a flat section on the Madeleine and Christophe Moreau comes to the front and the pace has shot up accordingly. He may be 39 years of age, but the former Festina man can still turn a mean pedal.

Sanchez is actually gaining time on this climb.

Weird to see Chris Sorensen doing that little spurt at the start of the Madeleine then Saxo Bank disappear again...

Cadel will be happy if Sanchez takes yellow for a few days.

Cunego could have a good chance here, which almost certainly means he will blow it.

Again, its factually correct. He used to ride for Festina.

If you're going to send someone up the road to wait for your leader, you usually do it early and don't use that years LBL winner who's well noted for strong performances in the 3rd week of grand tours, cos people will chase him. Then your leader has to respond constantly to people upping the pace behind.

Gap's not coming down much. Should be Sanchez vs Casar vs Cunego?
