Come on chaps. Tell me what's happening. Are they up the columbier yet. I'm about to go into a meeting to be made redundant. How dare they interupt a selection day lol. On the bright side I'll have the remaining days of the tour at leisure and live all day :)

They are past the Colombier, just climbing the Col des Avaris (2nd cat) now...

I've done both of those climbs and the Aravis is actually quite easy. The Colombiere on the other hand nearly killed me.

Thanks for the link FF. How slowly did they go up the Colombiere then as the peloton is still very big!

Am I the only person struggling to tell BMC from the Shack mob? Thought were a lot of Shack riders on the front at first, picture a bit fuzzy though

Nah, you're not the only one! That's the problem with BMC's one visible rider being the World Champ... their kit is relatively unknown.

After the threat of excitement, on the Colombiere, we end up with the normal TDF trudgefest.

@johanbruyneel Time to squeeze our lemons and get some nice lemonade... about 5 hours ago via UberTwitter

Uh... yeah. That's gonna be some bitter lemonade, seeing as the only lemons they squeezed were their own.

Hincapie's kit (US Champ) stands out too.

So Schleck says he's going to go for it if he gets the opportunity. Good for the race that he can't tt.

I've just seen something on the live coverage I've never seen before. Riding along - one RS rider holding onto the bike of another RS rider while the second rider was having a wee (while on one of the descents). I guess that's how you do it if you don't want to take the time to stop and get off!

    Climb starts in 20km

LLS is a pretty good climber. Going to be a tough one to get him and some of the others back if they arrive with the 5mins or so they have now I would imagine. He can TT well too.

A lot will change on the last big climb and the gap will disappear. Most of those in the front 12 won't be able to hang on. Sanchez might though.

There is a good photo of Astana in 07 Tour I think with one guy pushing another guy who in turn is pushing another guy (Vino I think) who is relieving himself.

07, eh? Vino must've been relieving himself all over the race

    1. Do they not sometimes extend the cut-off if a whole heap of riders miss the cut. Would they really axe the whole autobus?

    2. How much does AS need over AC goining into the TT. 3mins? he has 1min so far, so needs another 2mins. Opportunities being Stages 9,14,15,17. And only 14 & 17 have mountain top finishes. Will he wait until St.17 and try and finish the job off there?

I've never seen a peloton that big after two first cat and one second cat climbs. Must be well over 100 riders still there

No, they'll just dock 25 points from everyone in the bus. Bad for the sprinters, but if all the sprinters are together, it'll make no difference.

Schleck lost 1:45 to Bertie in the 40 km Annecy TT last year.

If his form is better this year the fatigue difference between him and Bert could be less at the final TT this year so he could get away with just under 2 min advantage, I think.

    This assumes Contador hasn't improved.

Seems to be the way it is now.. everyone waits till the final climb...

We could also all be expecting fireworks and because of the descent we may get nothing spectacular...
