Just btw, I think Paul would baulk at being described as a squid earlier on. That's like calling Geraint Thomas English.

Contador means serious business. The banana is en route.

To be fair, they are riding this like a bunch of pave novices; pushing and shoving with 15kms to the next sector.

........Now they are riding like yesterday. :?

    From now until the finish...

    44km to go - Secteur pavé d'Hollain (1 200 m)

    40 km - Secteur pavé de Rongy (700 m)

    27.5 km - Secteur pavé de Sars-et-Rosières (2 400 m)

    24.5 km - Secteur pavé de Tilloy-lez-Marchiennes (2 500 m)

    18 km - Secteur pavé de Wandignies-Hamage (3 700 m)

    10 km - Secteur pavé d'Haveluy (2 300 m)

Those last two are going to do damage not just because they're so long but everyone's going to be worn out.
I hope they realise they are heading to Paris. Not a pun but they are travelling away from Roubaix until the last 2/3 km as they then approach the Arenberg to finish.

Just about to cross into France. Can't see any gendarmes waiting for Lance. I guess they must be hiding, ready to pounce.

Chavanel riding well. Don't see Contador on Vino's wheel. Saxo's presence as usual. Think I see Sastre in top 20 which is suprising but good.

Think Cav had a mechanical as saw a Columbia rider pulling over not long ago which looked like him, not good timing!!

Jena gunning it, some nervy riding!

No big upsets after the first section. Contador was very well placed.
