Promises, promises, sounds just like the wife when she said she liked a face full.Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.
Who are you calling inbred?0 -
yeehaamcgee wrote:Oh forchirssakes. EXACTLY. the Kona is a single pivot swingarm - monopivot.
It behaves exactly like a monopivot, because it IS a monopivot.
What activates the shock doesn't come into it.
I didn't say anything about what activates the shock. What I said is that not being a horst link 4 bar doesn't mean you're not a 4 bar, whether the rear pivot is in the chainstay or not doesn't change that it's a 4 bar. It's a false distinction, in much the same way as the assumption that a single pivot has to be a simple direct-driven shock on a swingarm is also a false distinction.Uncompromising extremist0 -
But the suspension is NOT a 4 bar on bikes like the Kona. it just isn't. What activates the shock is.0

"It just isn't", well I can't argue with thatUncompromising extremist0

This is what I had to deal with! It's like arguing with religious people!
"That's crap, because it just is!"

Fine.
Brake jack is bollorks. There are no bikes currently on th emarket which could cause brake jack. They would all squat under braking.
However, the rider's weight transfer to the front negates this.
But hey, if you want to believe some marketing nonsense about why a certain bike will not "jack". Fine. But don't be fooled into thinking that all others do.
A single pivot swingarm is a single pivot swingarm, regardless of how the shock is activated. It could even be operated by pulleys, a series of cogs, even pneumatically or hydraulically. Even with magnetism. The swingarm, and the suspension geometry is still a single pivot. It will have the characteristics of a single pivot.0 -
Back on subjet,
I have given the cross bars to a lady i work with's dad.
so i still have two bike holders if anyone wants them?0 -

Er, if this is aimed at me I haven't said a thing about brake jack :? The only point I'm making here is that a 4-bar is a 4-bar, regardless of where the pivots are, despite your comments about "actual 4 bars". A faux bar IS a 4 bar. That's all.
