There was hint of sarcasm in my post!! I think the above is rare and most people work bloody hard for what they've got.

    True.

It annoys me when people tell me I'm lucky because I've got two sportscars, 4 or 5 nice bikes and I also have a couple decent holidays every year.

No. I'm not lucky. I got my head down at school/college/university and I now give 100% at work. I work[ed] hard to get here.

I appreciate that I was born into a situation 1000 times better than 90% of the world's population, but anyone with internet access falls into that 10% with me.

Well said fella. Really pisses me off when people on here judge someone who wants to spend their hard earned cash on something they like just because they can't afford it.

There's a lot of 'working class chips on shoulders' and inverted snobbery on this forum.

I grew up the son of a miner, went to a run of the mill comprehensive. I wasn't particularly bright but worked hard at the subject I enjoyed and had some talent in. I went to Art college got a degree and have worked at my career and now earn a decent wage.

If I want to buy a Rapha jersey, or a PS keyring I will. If you have a problem with that 'go f u c k yourself'.

    exactly -

though it still doesn't change the fact that Rapha kit is dreadful. Not by quality, but by style.

PS is the real deal, however. I just bought some PS swimming trunks - love 'em.

It is funny, it's funny that some people are actually daft enough to spend £54 on things like that. I go into large department store just to chuckle at the prices of rugs and t-shirts which cost sod all to make - then pop to the market and buy the same things for a huge amount less.

When I was an apprentice at a dental lab I had more money than I knew what to do with - I was still living at home paying 30 quid a week for my keep and earning well over 200 quid - to a 18yr old back in 1995 that's a lot of money. some of the rubbish I bought. I had more games for my computer than I ever played, books I never read, videos, CDs etc etc. I've changed thankfully.

And there's a huge difference between Rapha and Paul Smith. Whether you like the concept of Rapha, or not, it's good quality. The same can't be said for Paul Smith. If you're going to spend £kkk in Paul SMith, it's OK, but not worth the money. But in my experience, whilst it might look good, it doesn't look good for long.

That said, I'd be suprised if PS could f*ck up a key ring.

Bring on the comments from PS lovers :D

So wrong it's unreal, as a Nottingham boy I am proud to wear PS clothing. It lasts for ages (only just consigned to workshop wear my first pair of PS jeans bought 12 years ago) so no my suits (6 of which 1 is now 9 years old) last well, and still look stylish as opposed to fashionable. Yes I may be a fanboy but I earn it so I will spend it how I want. I can't afford a huge amount of designer clothing but the PS stuff just keeps lasting and stays in the wardrobe, as opposed to the levi's I bought which lasted 2 years or the NIke shite which doesn't last 10 minutes out running these days.

    Sigh !
I was going to respond in full to this, but I really can't be ar*ed. So, here's the short version.

    1) I like love PS design, just not the quality.
    2) Comments about quality were based on experience.
    3) PS will slap his name on anything, trust me, I've seen some really poor quality PS sh*te out there.
    4) Longevity of clothes depends on use. You can't compare the longevity of a pair of levis to a pair of PS jeans if they have different uses.
    5) I wasn't telling you not to, or how to spend your money.
    6) By self admittance, you're a fanboy, therefore your view will be tainted.
    7) Explain the cheap ar*se PS t-shirts that are thin, cheap material, go out of shape and shrink at the slightest opportunity....... for the bargain price of £45 !!
    8) Nope........... I really can't be ar*ed anymore...............

Does nobody else find this to be extremely prejudiced?

You are putting words and thoughts into the mouth and mind of a person who you have created entirely out of your own warped stereotypes.

Do you have trouble sleeping at night, with all these imaginary freaks running round in your head talking to you?

I am really not sure what the ramblings of an entirely fictitious person are intended to add to the debate. Or perhaps you were just trying to be funny?

    Dear reader,

the world is built on predjudices and stereotypes - and how awful that is - reality bites.

you might find it predjudiced and stereotyped what I have typed down here or you may not,(we should ask Nobody Else - does anyone know of their location?) you do not exactly say, instead you could possibly ask the question to others to find out what they think. this is called avoiding giving your own answer, trying to shift the focus from yourself but just saying enough to make another person seem wrong in their possible views or use of artistic expression and creativity - we wouldnt even have this lovely rapha mmm shiny shiny keyfob if it wasnt for the free expression of that creativity and artistic nature and then the ability to tap into potential markets to then proffer these artistic creative wares for a price within an open market.

and if you want predjudice & stereotypes - check out people such as bernard manning and roy 'chubby' brown and Andrew Watts - now thats offensive, as is the use of making another look 'extremely predjudiced' just by simply pointing a finger in that persons direction & using a 'loaded' comment - Does anyone find this reverse projection from one viewpoint to another viewpoint extremly prejudical? hmmm lets ponder.

I write it as comedy or possibly I'm being quite serious, you decide, that means I am laughing at myself as well as others and the irony and stupidity of a given situation - I have a creative freedom to do this, as I do not target anyone/a group of people specifically or individually - if someone chooses to take offence to what I say then that person has a problem they may need to address, in themselves, especially if they then decide to vent there anger back at me, its the equivilent of getting angry with the guy whose 'just doing his job' on the other end of the telephone - they can put the phone down on people now - maybe I should do the internet equivilent of hanging up on yourself ? its called ignoring you from now on , feel free to ignore me also, if it offends your delicate nature so.

who am I writing this to? ahh exactly! as 'the voice of big brother' often reminds me when it comes time for eviction on the reality TV show - you decide.

are we not all works of fiction?

    Greenberg quote:

Ivan Schrank(played by Rhys Ifans): youth is wasted on the young
Roger Greenberg(played by Ben Stiller): I'd go furthur,I'd go..life is wasted on people

I can most certainly say, without a doubt, as I have never met you, you most possibly are a work of fiction, until proven otherwise at least! and even then I might not exactly be so sure.

thankyou for taking the time reading this dear reader, remember , you have a completely free right to say what you choose to say, without fear, from those with hatred in their views who hide in plain view.

those that seek to belittle you by the use of loaded words, possibly studied NLP & other meme programming techniques - if you can spot them, be aware, they will try to attack you as an individual with their own predjudices, they cloak themselves under the pretence of all that is decent & honest with the world - godspeed you sir!.

    perhaps

Nobody Else(played by themselves): OM fugging gawd!! why am I even here? How did I come to be in this reality? seriously tho' I don't think this person, whomever they are, is extremly prejudiced, its just all so subjective, oh wow! look at the cute little keyfob that would look so good on my poochie's collar , I so have to buy one of those, Do you have it in green? please say you have it in green!!

    likewise.

unless that lift had an assorted variety of dips & condiments anyway

or was an extra large lift , lets say 'vast' - then I could eat my cocktail party sausages in peace with just a little dip of relish, they taste better that way.

possibly a bar on the lift serving refreshing alcoholic beverages - I'd have a ginger beer.

I don't understand the point of a 'key fob'. I suppose if you only have one key then it makes it easier to find. But if you have a bunch of keys then that's bigger than the fob. And probably easier to spot than the fob at the bottom of your manbag

My youngster signed up to Computeach home computer course, just as they went bust.
Promised him work, new career etc, knowing they were going down the pan.

After waiting months, he decided to find his own job, and is quite content working now.
Then, letter arrives saying, he owes 6 grand, plus interest for a 3 yr course, when the first year wasn't even done due to their financial shinanigans...

Good old Advent apparently took over, and signed their debt over to Barclays.

Now, he's got £12,000 DEBT hanging over him, for nothing. Apparently thousands of others in the same boat, many giving up good jobs to do a "Non-existant" course.
    Facebook pages give similar experiences.

SO...£54 for key ring is CRAP, but at least you get something. 12 grand for a CRAP course is bloody worse!

It's the world of branded goods where price does not neccessarily mean value for money. There was a Louis Vuitton towel in the Saturday supplement for £374....for a towel!!!! But someone (or their business) will buy it. Remember the adage that no-one ever got rich underestimating the customer.
