What the hell do you expect from a thread titled "My Punani hurts"

Sudacream now applied and padded cycling shorts are on...ahhhhhh...what a relief.
Thanks everyone for the advice and fun thread.

I just looked at my saddle and the thing is so much wider than my " " that its no wonder I was in so much pain...

HopefullyI'll get a new saddle next week. 8)

Ms DDD can relate. I keep apologising but to no avail....

Consider a Brooks, it'll be tough at first but does make a heck of a difference. I've recently had a new bike with quite a grippy thin saddle and not to put too fine a point on it, it rubbed my a**e raw to the point of having to see the Dr to get a steroid cream to repair the damage and a fortnight on public transport.

I've transferred my Brookes B17 narrow from my other bike and the difference is incredible, Now I actually notice myself moving about on the saddle and going with my leg movement rather than being stuck in place fighting it. The grippy saddle has gone in the bin.

I like the idea of a brooks saddle, but it could be an expensive mistake?? Any other opinions on them??

I've solved some issues recently with a good slap of Aqueous cream around said area every night.

If the missus comes in when I'm applying it I'm sure it looks a bit weird but hay.

The best all-round Brooks is a B.17 Standard, if that width is ok for you it's worth trying.

Brooks take ages to 'break in' during which time it feels like riding a log - probably not the best solution given your present problem - I would suggest something with firm padding - soft padding is useless and you end up hitting the hard base of the saddle when you go over big bumps

Just give in, get padded shorts and go commando, I eventually gave in even though there is something slightly wrong about it.

Also a saddle with a slot down the middle is far, far more comfortable than a flat one if the irritation is really in your delicate areas.

Can you actually feel when the saddle does and doesn't have a slot in the middle?

Am I the only one thinking very large sani-pad...

Oh no... make it stop... please...

And just realised the phalic symbol of the padded areas of the image... let alone the saddle... jesus, cycling is saucy.

Duh, because that's what makes a punani feel most comfortable, every man knows that!

The men who made women specific padded shorts were thinking one thing... the safe welfare and overall comfort of the vagina.

As Aidy said, men's saddles can have a perineum cut out too.
