They're off and have been racing for 20km now. As usual breaks are trying to form but nothing's managed to break the elastic so far with Radioshack riding on the front.

Does Millar have a chance? Can Garmin break the Shack? Unlikely but I hope so!

Bert Grabsch quits. Maybe there's time to get him to Switzerland to slave for Cavendish.

28 degrees on the road already. It's going to be a long day.

Not allowed unless he gets special UCI dispensation, and he doesn't ride for the Shack

Garmin are trying. Van Summeren went up the road but got caught. Now Danny Pate and Cervelo's Stefan Denifl are three minutes up the road.

Big headwind. The two have a six minute lead but only covered 32km in the past hour. RadioShed leading the bunch.

It was the "I'm soddisfation" bit that made me smirk. Is this some new kind of training: "sod it, I'll have a pie"

I am keen to see today how Brajkovic rides after yesterdays effort..

In theory he should be in a fair bit of pain. If he is not off the pace a bit then I will be very surprised. If things get messy in the hills and he is able to hold wheels then I am going to be a bit suspicions of what "NEW" program the shack are on...

Peloton 9 minutes back, with Rabobus pulling ahead of the Shack.

All depends on whose wheels he will be able to hold. There wouldnt be anything strange with him following the likes of Millar, Van den Broeck or Le Mevel. Contador, Horner and Sammy S should normally be faster uphill, but seem to be a preparatory mood. Szmyd is unreliable, Menchov seems OK, but recovering, and there are not that many others who should in all cirumstances be faster. I don't see how Brajkovic staying with a small bunch could be suspicious in itself.

Speaking of Tweets, I liked Matt Rendell's: "Somewhere in Germany, Susan Westmeyer is paraphrasing Jeff Quenet and Louis Doucet's Dauphiné updates (letour.fr) into CN! Enterprising, eh?"

    Miaow

We're just all cycled out, because the Giro was so good. Most races are bound to be a bit of a let down.

They have been on bigger roads and "showcasing" some new bypasses by the sounds of things.

Rabo doing the work in anticipation of Menchov. Hope dies last I suppose.

Horner is a beast - the best rider in the Shack, hands down.
