Yep, never quite got how they call that stuff R 'n B, it's nothing like the proper version!

Almost any of the talentless pap that is broadcast over the airwaves annoys me. The likes of Scouting For Girls, Goldie Looking Chain (god how I long to take my chain lock to their heads!!!), Razorshyte, The Killers, Lilly Allen..... basically anything that makes it into the charts these days. The only exception to the so called "indie" bands of today is Kaiser Chiefs..... because they were awesome at Reading and Kings of Leon (who were on after) just couldn't compare to the show and passion they put into their music.

I am an old fart though......

At least Goldie Looking Chain are just purely taking the urine and in no way a serious band although their music is no worse that many of that genre (and better than quite a few!!!).

Kings of Leon! Did someone mention Kings of Leon?!

Do my head in...here's why, early singles ie The Bucket & Molly's Chambers were great catchy geetar pop.

Sex on Fire...good tune but played to death. Band go global...huge, massive, festival headliners!

Everthing else since...cack. Struggle to remember name of any of it.

Jazz - it's the work of the devil himself.
Dancey shite i.e happy hardcore keech like Scooter and other brain numbing shit that only wee pr1cks in shellsuits that infest some of these parts listen too.
Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus - the joys of having a 6 year old girl.
Alexandra Burke and any other X factor winner

At least my 10 year old lad is growing up with some decent taste i.e. Muse, Metallica, generally anything with a decent guitar part in it.

I'm away to lie down now after that rant

I include ALL "boy" or "girl" bands in my rant about pop. They are not bands..... they are a group of semi attractive people (apparently) with no singing talent who have songs written for them to ponce around to. The classic "I love you" song sung by 5 blokes makes no sense. There are 5 of you, you should never sing "I" anything!!!! Tw@ts

I have the Chipmunk version of that song , the only reason I like it and play it is it winds up the people who actually do like the original song. It scrambles their brains. and its fun watching.

*Wyatting* - The newly coined term which means to play songs on pub jukeboxes that are the songs people never play and everyone loathes, eg play all the naff xmas songs in the middle of the summer, then sit back and watch the ensuing chaos :D (Wyatt as in Robert Wyatt - one time drummer with the soft machine) - I like Robert myself! Kanye sux balls.

La Roux - makes me genuinely violent. I'd rather listen to white noise, honestly.

Also, anything off the Simon Cowell Production Line of copied b0ll0x. Makes me feel ill.

The generic 'Clap, Tshh, Clap Tsh' beats of modern, over-produced RnB/HipHop - Commonly found on Radio one. On the subject, Chris Brown is a c**t. Don't get me wrong though, there are some geniuses in this Genre - namely Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco.

As mentioned before, Hardcore or Happy Hardcore. It's just not right.

These days I find it hard to listen to any new music that has words. I've been buying music for years and to be honest anything worth saying has already been said and I've heard it. There are still exceptions and I listen out for anything that sounds interesting.

Robert Wyatt? I love Robert Wyatt! however I can see that he might not appeal to all tastes.

I still buy loads of music but almost all of it is instrumental these days.

I have a particular adversion to that 'I predict a riot' nonsense, I'll show him what a riot is.

...oh and that really irritating 'Go Compare' advert

All that maudlin 'indy' pop stuff - Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Travis etc.

Oh, and The Verve. I freakin' HATE The Verve.

There's only one thing worse than The Verve, and that's a Richard Ashcroft solo record - a combination of "yawn!" and wanting to pull my own head off.

I get irritated when people think I'm into hardcore, when I say I love my dance music.

I mean techno, house, and trance (thoroughly uncool I know).

As such, hardcore does my head in.

But yes, as you'd expect for someone who likes dance music, Jazz really does hurt my soul.

Then again, I get irritated when the banal awfulness that is Coldplay gets associated with my all time love radiohead....
